This book is useful for demonstrating the different makeup of families. Like every child, every family is unique. This book allows us to have a better view of what families can mean for each of us.

I think this book is appropriate for any child. Each child has some form of a family, whether they are blood-relatives, adopted relatives, friends, or pets. It is nice to see a representation of yourself and others in books at any age.

This book is slightly complex. The organization is clear and predictable, graphics help portray the different families, language features are simple, familiar and straightforward, the theme is clear, and experiences with family are common everyday experiences for most readers.

This book is useful for addressing and teaching children about homelessness. Children may be concerned that their family is or will not be a family any more without a house or without each other, but that is not the case. This book assures us that family is still a family no matter what happens.

This book is appropriate for children who have, who are, or who might experience homelessness at some point in their lives. It can also provide their peers a chance to see and understand what they are thinking, feeling, and going through at the moment.

This book has varying levels of complexity. The knowledge demands are exceedingly complex for the children, but the language, sentence structure, and use of graphics are very complex. Most children will not have any experience with homelessness.

This book is useful for acknowledging that children can be whatever they want to be. In particular, this book can be especially useful in acknowledging that girls can be in and can succeed in the STEM/STEAM field. According to the book, failure will only us back if we let it; moreover, as long as we put our minds to it, we can succeed.

I think this book is appropriate for any child who feels unsure or uncomfortable with any kind of failure or who may feel the presence of gender roles or scripts. Anyone can like and whatever they want if it makes them happy.

This book has a very complex text complexity. Due to its unfamiliar and academic vocabulary, use of complex sentences and subordinate phrases, references to Rosie the Riveter and WWII, multiple levels of meaning, and different and abstract/uncommon experiences, I believe the book is very complex.

This book is useful for identifying and acknowledging Native American culture and customs and the importance of one's name. Our name is our own, and it is a sense of our identity. While most people are given their names at birth, Native Americans are known to change names as a part of rewards ceremony. Our name makes us who we are and who we seem to people around us.

I think this book is appropriate for all children. I think every child wonders at some point why there were given their name and what they would change it to if they got to decide. This book is also a great mirror for Native American children. They can see a representation of their culture and customs in the life of Thunderboy Jr.

I think this book is
moderately complex.

The book is useful in detailing common thoughts and feelings of children who experience and are introduced to a new environment for the first time. The premise and meaning of the story is applicable to multiple different situations - while you may be somewhere new and no may look like you, stay true to yourself because you are unique.

This book is appropriate for any child who may feel different or feel uncomfortable in the classroom. This book can be read on the first day of school to help children feel better not only about starting school, but also their identity.

Overall, the book is very complex due to its use of complex sentences, multiple levels of meanings, subplots, and different levels of knowledge and experience.

This book is useful in illustrating and informing children about the importance of one's traditions and how traditions can change and adapt over time. Not only do we change as we grow older, but are actions also change with us. These changes can also occur in our environments and culture. We keep our traditions in our hearts, but we keep looking toward the future.

I think this book is appropriate for all children. Every child grows into and adapts to their own culture and environment. I also think this book is a great resource for Native American children. The book provides two outlooks on Native American culture: one traditional and one contemporary view of life. Having this dual form of representation is a great mirror for Native American children and their culture.

I think this book is exceedingly complex. The organization is very intricate and has two different points of view/storylines. The graphics also aid in understanding the text, the vocabulary is complex, unfamiliar, and archaic, the sentence structure is mainly complex sentences with subordinate clauses, the theme is subtle and sophisticated, the experiences are not as common, and there are many references to Native American cultural elements.

This book is useful in illustrating and informing children about one form of a disability. While most children probably know a family member that is losing their hearing and need hearing aids, they might not know that some people, including possible classmates, are born deaf. This book would be a great resource to talk to children about different disabilities and what can be done to help people who have these disabilities.

I think this book is appropriate for all children. It provides children without disabilities a window opportunity to see what it is like living and adapting with a disability. It also provides children with disabilities a mirror opportunity to see themselves represented in the book in such a great way.

After reviewing the text again, I believe that this book is exceedingly complex. The organization has great detail, the graphics are essential for understanding the meaning of the text, the language conventions are abstract and include figurative language, the vocabulary is complex, the sentence structure is mainly complex sentences with several subordinate clauses with transition words, the theme is a revealed over the entirety of the text, there are many cultural references to jazz, and the experience is distinctly different from the common reader.

This book is useful for identifying bullying and ways to combat with bullying with help from others, positive thoughts, and confidence. The book claims that while bullying may keep you down, you have the power and strength to get back up and love yourself for who you are.

This book is appropriate for children who are overweight, who get bullied because of their characteristics, and who bully other children. This book is a mirror for those who are overweight or bullied and a window into the world for bullies.

The book as a whole is very complex. The use of graphics extend meaning, sentence structure is varied and diverse, vocabulary is some unfamiliar (swimming terms), there are multiple meanings, and children may not have the same experiences.
