For example: Which planet is closet to the sun? I'll give each corner a number and an answer. Corner 1 will be Mercury Corner 2 will be Earth, Corner 3 will be Jupiter and corner 4 will be Uranus. The students will then have a chance to pick which corner they think is correct.. whoever is in corner 1, Mercury, will get the question correct. I'll have my clipboard with names and will check off each student that is getting questions correct & incorrect. I love this assessment! Each word will be worth a certain amount depending on how much you want the essay to be worth. For instance 30 words at 10 cents a piece will be a $3 summary. The students will be divided evenly and given a dry erase marker to write with on the board. The two students that are first in the line will race to the board, write down the answer to the question I ask and then race back to the peer that was behind them and hand them the marker. Then they'll go to the back of the line and let the other people get a chance to race. Green means that they understand, yellow means they are understand some aspects and red means they don't understand at all and need extra support.
