         <description><![CDATA[<div>Q1:<br>Why didn't Roger run away with the door open, and the woman not watching?  I  think that he wanted to prove to Mrs. Jones that he could be trusted. I know this because in the text, it says, "He did not trust the woman <em>not </em>to trust him. And he did not want to be mistrusted now."<br>Q2:<br>I think that Mrs. Jones didn't say "but I didn't snatch people's pocket books" because she did not want to embarrass Roger, or make him any more ashamed than he was already. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. Critical, Why doesn't Mrs Jones just bring him to jail? It is almost like Mrs Jones is rewarding him for his bad behavior.<br>2. I wonder why Mrs Jones gave him some money? She almost treated her almost like her son but that boy tried to rob her and he would have taken all her stuff. I already inferred that she was poor why would she do this act of kindness to someone who was selfish to rob her? </div>]]></description>

This shows that she was going to feed him right after he tried to steal the purse.<br>Q2:&nbsp; Why did Mrs. Jones give the boy ten dollars? In the text it said "Now here, take this ten dollars and buy yourself some blue suede shoes." This also shows that she might be poor and is even giving him 10 dollars which was a lot back then</div>]]></description>

He was already in enough trouble.<br>Question Two:  I don't understand why the woman would take the boy in and give him half of her ten cent cake.
