In the town of DAling, Guangdong Province, ZHANG started her business of indigo dyes after three years of convalescence for health reasons in 2021. 
 
After resigning on the advice of doctors, ZHANG started to travel between different villages in remote mountain areas and tried to find something peaceful to ease her nervousness. 

"I help villagers with almost everything. So they were willing to treat me as one of the locals and teach me their traditional dye techniques. They really rescue me from an unusually tight mental state caused by previous overloaded work. " ZHANG said.
 
From the extraction to indigo-related handmade products, ZHANG pays attention to everything about this color. 

Many villagers have not been educated but can draw special patterns on indigo-dyed fabric. But the low output of handmade is a big advantage in the market. ZHANG chose to open an indigo dye experience workshop, which can enable both her and the villagers to have an income.
