After it was designed and ready to be dropped on Hiroshima, The bomb traveled by train to San Francisco where it boarded the USS Indianapolis. The USS Indianapolis took the atomic bomb to Tinian Island where it would then be loaded onto the Enola Gay, the plane that would drop the bomb. The plane left at 2:45 a.m. and dropped the bomb at 8:15 a.m.</div>]]></description>

Around 237,000 people in Hiroshima were killed directly or indirectly by the bomb including burns, radiation sickness, and cancer. 70,000 of 76,000 buildings were damaged or destroyed by the bomb. 48,000 of those were completely razed, or burned and destroyed entirely.</div>]]></description>
