         <description><![CDATA[<p>Recrystallization of NaCl </p><p>CPIPS </p><p>Mr. Ginex-Orinion </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>Pre Lab Discussion: </p><p>Recrystallization is one way of isolating an ionic compound from a solution. If several ionic compounds are present in an aqueous solution, then a precipitation reaction may be performed to remove the unwanted ions.          <description><![CDATA[<p>1) If your percent error was positive it means you lost salt somewhere in the experiment. Reasons for losing salt are, not rinsing out the remaining salt particles left in the flask. Also when you are boiling the water&nbsp;it bubbles and pops, so when&nbsp;the water was popping it is possible that the water got out of the graduated&nbsp;cylinder&nbsp;and salt particles were in the water that escaped.</p><p>2) If your percent error was negative it means that there was more grams added to the experiment in someway. Grams could have been added by not rinsing out the graduated cylinder before you started your trial, which means that there might have still been some left over salt particles from the previous experiments. Also, if you didn't let the water evaporate for the correct amount of time the grams could have been added by the amount of water still left in the graduated cylinder.</p><p>3) The&nbsp;ESLR we think is used in this project is Critical Thinker. Throughout this experiment we needed to figure out all the mistakes and errors that&nbsp; took place while working. We had to combine our knowledge and figure out what we did wrong when doing the recrystallization. We also had to make sure that we got the right calculations and make sure that we got the right percent error. </p>]]></description>
