         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><p>Ronald Davies was a visiting judge from Minnesota, who utilized the Auxiliary Courtroom in Little Rock's federal courthouse. Davies overturned the ruling that prevented schools from being integrated</p></li><li><p>Davies ordered the integration of Little Rock Highschool, and he prevented the governor from taking in other measures that prevents said integration</p></li><li><p>Following the court case Davies judge's bench from the court case was sent  to Arkansas as a symbol</p><p>"It's important for people to not only hear about our history, but to be able to see where it happened and place themselves inside of that moment.</p></li></ol>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Nour, Adam, Marcus</p><p><br></p><p>It was the second most important segregationist organization during the desegregation of Little Rock Central High School. Established in 1957 by Merrill Taylor (Little Rock Salesman).</p><p><br></p><p>They played a huge role by stepping up and fighting for African Americans rights for education. They also were guarded by the Army because they were getting attacked trying to get education. Most of the kids were threatened  or harmed. </p><p><br></p><p>After the desegregation African American and white people were still seperated but not because of race but more comfortability. Students felt it was best the stuck to their own race. Teachers tried to help to prevent this, but forcing diversity didn't tend to work </p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <title>Minnijean Brown</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><p>Minnijean Brown was a member of the Little Rock Nine. She received a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree after high school.</p></li><li><p>She was suspended and expelled from Little Rock Central High School for retalliating against daily torment.</p></li><li><p>After being expelled, she moved to New York and attended a private high school. She has received numerous awards for her community work for social justice.</p></li></ol>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>After the desegregation of Little Rock Central High School, Daisy Bates received much criticism and numerous threats. Later, she moved to Washington D.C. to work for the Democratic National Commitee and on antipoverty projects for Lyndon B. Johnson's administration. </p></li><li><p>Daisy Bates' roles in Little Rock Central were very important for the desegregation of the institution. She wrote a book called "The Long Shadow of Little Rock." Her home served as the headquarters for the battle to integrate Little Rock Central High School. She helped the nine students get into the school despite all of the hate and threats she received. These nine students were known as the Little Rock 9 and she was with them every step of the way while they were walking into the school.</p></li><li><p>Daisy Gates was born on November 11, 1914. Her mother was murdered by three white men and her father left her. She operated a weekly African American newspaper. She also became president of the Arkansas chapter of the NAACP.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

He went on later to Michigan State Univeristy to recieve a bachelors of arts + master in sociology.</p></li><li><p> Only Senior of the Little Rock Nine of out of the nine. Hewas the first African American to graduate Little Rock High School.</p></li><li><p> He became involved in employment law with a building-trade apprenticeship for the Adolph Institute, a project to help minority women in the South find opportunities for professional careers.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Cole, Daniel, Jillian</p><p><br/></p><p>1) Orval was born in Arkansas. He grew up as a son of a poor farmer. After his term as governor he worked as a bank clerk. He made three unsuccessful bids for the governorship.</p><p><br/></p><p>2) Orval signed the southern manifesto which attacked the U.S. supreme courts decision in Brown v Board of education.  He sent 270 soldiers to block the entrance of Central High School to prevent the nine African American Students in.</p><p><br/></p><p>3) Orval's actions attracted national television attention and set the stage for the souths resistance to integration.</p>]]></description>

Her mother Lois, one of the first black graduates of the University of Arkansas in 1954, and earned a doctorate degree. </p><p><br/></p><p>She was one of nine black students who volunteered to transfer to Little Central High School.</p><p><br/></p><p>She earned a bachelor of arts degree and a masters degree in journalism from San Francisco State University and Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York.
