Migration to a distant destination that occurs in stages, for example, from farm to nearby village and later to a town and city. This relates to the Rwanda migrations because most of the refugees ended up in asylums or refugee camps then to somewhere that would be better for living in like a town and then to a city or a more urban area.

1. Most migrants move only a short distance.
This relates to the Rwanda migrations because most of the people who migrated only went out to the countries that were near or next to them.
2. Most international migrants consist of young males between the ages of 20 and 45.
This seems to be mostly true because most of the people fled from the war were mothers and fathers of children but most of the children were not the between the age of 20 or 45.
3. Migration increases in volume as industries develop and transportation improves.
This is true because most of the refugees wen tot places they knew they would have the most opportunities to have better income and more guaranteed safety.
4.Each migration flow produces a compensating counter-flow.
This law doesn’t not take place during this unless there are a group of people who want to help put a stop or win the civil war then there is no reason to try to go to Rwanda.
5.Long-distance migrants go to one of the great centers of commerce and industry. This doesn’t really happen with most of the migrations of people in Rwanda since most of them are only planning to stay way from the war and later come back to Rwanda afterwards making there very little amounts of long distance immigrants.
6. Natives of towns are less migratory than those from rural areas. While under normal circumstances this would be true the civil wars that were happening had this have the opposite effect where the people who were in more urban areas were forced to fled while some of the more rural areas not as much
7.Females are more migratory than males.
This would be the case for the Rwanda migrations since most people who were involved in the civil war were men while the mothers fled with their children.
8.Economic factors are the main cause of migration.
In this case this isn’t exactly true because most of the migrations are due to needing safety from the civil war taking place, however there may have been some kind of money issue since the area where Rwanda is located isn’t exactly considered rich
