A) Though Buddhism is from Hinduism they have their differences. In Buddhism there is no caste system, and no waiting thousands year to reach enlightenment.

B) It was appealing to the lower caste Indians because it gave them a way out. It let them achieve enlightenment without having to go through the process of rebirth.
