They do this by lending it out to others who then use it to purchase homes, businesses, etc.

I like how this website breaks down the structure of a banking institution and gives the reader some thought on what would the world be like if we had no banks. Giving notion that banks help the economy a lot more than harm.

The bank works because of our trust. We give the bank our money and then the bank turns around and loans it to someone else to make money for itself. Banks can legally extend more credit than they have funds. Most of us have total trust in the bank to give our money back when we need it.

This video is a little on the conspiracy side and it relies on viewers fear of world domination, however it showcases the banks hold on the economy quite well. There is some truth to the subject matter as it focuses on the structure of the banks and how the bank influences international markets as well as those that work within the bank system can influence the economy too.

The whole process is referred to the "Velocity of Money" and encompasses the process of how banks are able to make money.

This process is not fool proof however as I have learned in my research, as in when a large amount of clients withdrawn their money at the same time. In the end, the process has been successful for the banks and helped pave the way for the financial economy.
