I let my sister down a lot. I always have something going on, school or church or with friends that I usually don't have time to sit down and play with her. I can recall one ocassion i was really looking forward to see a movie and she asked to come and watch it with my friends and i, and didn't want to bring her along. during the movie there were parts that she might have likes so i felt a little guilty. Later on i really bad because she made time to spend with me and i kinda brushed her off. I felt like it would have been better if i just go with my sister go together another time to watch the movie. I let my sister down a lot but, i feel like that was one of the times i regret the most.

Every year my school participated in an event called Bandarama in which bands from high schools throughout the area gather together to play and showcase the school's musical talents. After the event had finished, it was time to pack up the instruments to take back to the school. I decided to take charge of the timpani drums and take two of my bandmates to the U-haul where they could be taken back to the school. The drums were all very heavy and had wheels that did not function properly, making the trek to the U-haul extremely difficult. After leading my bandmates halfway across the school to where I thought the U-haul was parked, we discovered that the U-haul was actually very close to where we had began. We then had to lug the drums all the way back to where we came from. I felt so embarrassed and sorry for my bandmates.

When playing competitively in tournaments I make a large amount of risk, but I do so based on my opponent's behaviors in certain scenarios so I am able to read their next move from prediction. However, this sometimes does not go as planned. If such a thing happens I put myself in more danger than my opponent was in before. This will happen a multitude of times, considering most people in a tournament use their heads. Mix-ups (Mixing up your options in scenarios) and reading your opponent is a major risk-reward factor and can often be the deciding factor of the match.

About a month ago, I had a history assignment in which I was to construct a Chinese peasant's journal entry from the time in which farms were collectivized. I had decided to type out the entire document in Chinese with an English translation beneath for some historical accuracy despite the fact that I was performing in Disneyland the next day and had no idea how to write in Chinese. The screen containing my work stared back at me patiently as I carefully worded my sentences into Google Translate and back again. My mind went blank. The hotel room was infuriatingly silent, and my sleeping irregularities from the long drive to southern California had made it intensively difficult to concentrate. I jolted my eyes back to the screen, reminding myself that I still had to finish the journal entry within a couple hours. My fingers found new sentences to replace ones that were too complicated to properly translate. I added onto the new sentences, feeding those aspects of the peasant's life. The freshly constructed sentences were typed into the translate. I took the provided translation and placed it in the Chinese to English translation box only to find that the characters did not properly convey what I had initially intended. I then took each of the characters and placed them individually into the Chinese to English translate to more fully understand their meaning. Translating individual words that I deemed to be incorrectly translated from the original sentence really helped because it showed alternatives for the character that they automatically had put. I experimented with the previously translated sentences by adding and removing characters as well. Sometimes, I had to alter the English words that I had initially used because no Chinese characters would properly suffice. Once I understood the structure of the sentences and characters that I had used, I corrected the initial translation, and placed it on my paper. I uploaded my work onto Engrade at 11:54 p.m., six minutes before midnight. After I made sure that my work had been successfully turned in, I felt very much relieved. When I checked my score later, I was very much pleased to discover that my teacher had given me a 20/15 for my hard work. I am glad that my risk payed off. :)

1)
I let my brothers down & made a fool of myself pretty recently actually. Less then 2 months ago I got into an argument with my mom to the point where she kicked me out, then she called the police and told everyone I ran away. When I came back, I was so fed up with her that I called my grandparents and left the day after I came back. I still feel that I have let my brothers down because I’m there big brother & I left them to deal with my mom and my step father when I should be protecting them. Yet it’s very hard because I was on the verge of hurting myself and I could not live there any longer. I didn’t think of my brothers before myself.

Alora Turley 2:
A time I took a risk was when I decided to go to a winter camp, and I had no idea how I was going to pay for it. It was my very first overnight camp and I was really excited. I managed to do a few fundraisers, but I wasn’t doing enough. I thought that I wasn’t going to be able to go, but I had one last fundraiser to go, so I decided to wait. I am so glad I did because at that fundraiser someone anonymously donated the rest of the amount I needed to pay so I could go. It was a risk I had to take, but it turned out to be one of the greatest camps I’ve ever been to.
