A discussion on the topics of the European educational program "STEAM on foot" and a workshop for the creation of collaborative digital maps of the four countries (Greece, Lithuania, Portugal, Turkey) were implemented according to the program! Thank you to the 2nd elementary school of Chania for providing the computer room and the school library!

In the framework of Erasmus KA2 "STEAM on foot", from October 21 to 25, 2024, the 2nd working meeting of the partners from Lithuania, Turkey ,Portugal,was held at the school and in our city! The first day included a visit to the school, getting to know the children and teachers and a symbolic planting of healing plants in the school's botanical garden!

We thank the organizer Ms. Jolanta Varanaviciene for the guided tour of the city of Kaunas, the first capital of Lithuania, and her suggestions for our museum visits. The National Museum of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Museum of Children's Literature were worth our visit! We met the national painter and musician M.K.Ciurlionis as well as the writer Vytaute Zilinskaite! An acquaintance that we aim to utilize in our educational program!

The project is implemented by the 2nd Kindergarten of Chania (Greece), the Zilvitis Kindergarten (Lithuania), the Escola Básica Integrada de Arrifes Kindergarten/Primary School (Portugal) and the Kaymakam Hikmet Özbağcı İlkokulu Kindergarten/Primary School (Turkey).

The project seeks to improve the educational achievements of preschool children using the STEAM approach and experiential education, creating conditions for teachers to apply STEAM approaches in outdoor education,to promote learning outside the classroom and to make every child, according to their abilities and age, participate in decision-making and the active learning process.

A.Visit to EBI Arrifes schools learning about the pedagogical practices and teaching methods applied in preschool education in Portugal.

People from all over the world are walking and joining a common path. Thanks to the Erasmus KA2 transnational educational program funded by the European Union, we met the excellent colleagues from Lithuania, Turkey, Portugal. Together with them, we work differently, with the aim of creativity, inclusion, cooperation. We were inspired and implement "STEAM on foot"! An innovative, digital tool!Thank you to Machi Koufogiorgos and Yiannis Sinis for mixing us with music and songs from around the world!

Basketball, snow, paper cutting, straw, painters, new words apperad on our Erasmus board! It is Lithuania!!!

It might be almost 3.000 miles to go to Kaunas and discover Lithuanian culture but through activities in class , students can learn a lot!!We tried to make straw symbols, we did scissor cutting, we drawn like Ciurlionis, we played basketball and last but not least we even made a snowman!!And we all learned to say: LABAS!!!HELLO!!ΓΕΙΑ!!!

Disseminating the beauties of Sao Miguel through paintings! Students watched a video of Sao Miguel island, observed the paintings of Azores’s features and finally created a painting about Sao Miguel with the technique of collage

Desiminating the features of Azores Archipelago, we took informations about the birds!Students watched educational videos about the bird species that live on the island and played educational games in order to deserve the bird” Azores “and the bird “Cangarro”!They were informed about the environmental organisation “ S.OS. CANGARRO “ and read the story book “ Junior Cangarro “.Moreover , they compared them with Greek birds and watched the common ones in the Greek sky: the seagull and the sparrow!

3d Stop to our creative journey! Birds, lava stones, islands in the Antlanrtic Ocean , lava caves, white and black houses appeared in ouw Erasmus board! It is Azores!!
