He was not born into a very good home. His father was an alcoholic and he told stories about how he had to drag his dad in from outside in the snow because his dad was passed out. He had a brother named Neil who lived with him and his parents. His moms name was Nelle and her and her husband were both democratic. When his father got a job at the WPA his brother received a job from them. His father was very against racism and he wasn't allowed to watch the movie Birth of a Nation because it glorified the Ku Klux Klan His father passed away in 1941. His mom died in 1962. When he was little he was playing under a train that wan't moving but then started moving and he almost died. He went to school at Dixon high school in 1928 where he played football and basketball. He was president of the student body and he acted in many plays. During the summers he worked as a lifeguard and it is said that he saved 77 people from drowning. He attended college at Eureka college in Eureka, Illinois. He majored in economics and graduated with a c average. After his college years he became a Hollywood actor and was a a radio sportscaster. Reagan was called to service during the Pearl Harbor attack but was kept out of service because he was nearsighted. He met Jane Wyman while doing a movie and they adopted a kid and had a daughter. He enjoyed traveling and had a ranch that we would go ride horses at. He was then later followed with depression and he wrote a letter to the American people saying that he had Alzheimer's disease. He then wrote another letter saying that he would be dying soon and that he hopes that God will let him rest in peace. On June 5th, 2004 Reagan died.
