Since middle school I, like many others, have used the way I dress as a means of expression. Today, my clothes are more conservative than my years in middle or high school. I believe the way I dress is conservative due to my upbringing. I grew up in a very conservative and religious family, where dressing anything but modest wasn’t acceptable. I have however, been able to branch out from this and slowly be more comfortable with myself and my body. Still, I feel the way I dress remains applicable to my sense of self and self-expression. Now, I am drawn to unique and unusual garments. Some might call them old fashioned, and I don’t disagree. Many of my clothes have unique accents such as buttons and quirky stitching or other features.
