The Runaway Bunny is a 1942 picture book written by Margaret Wise Brown and illustrated by Clement Hurd. The plot deals with a small rabbit, who wants to run away. His mother, however, tells him that "if you run away, I will run after you." (wikipedia summar) but little bunny still tries! Read it to find out what happens.

"Note Perfect" from the Ella & Olivia collection is the first chapter book Isabel has read. She understood the story perfectly and read it over and over during the break! Made her want to explore more books in this collection and beyond.

This is a photo of the special birthday meal Asher’s godparents prepared for him during the break. Even though they are not blood family, they are family to Asher. He insisted on using these photos (even though there were other photos of meals with his immediate family), as he views them as family and felt this meal was most special. They prepared all his favourite foods, a mango birthday cake and lots of presents. He has his godparents permission to post the photos.

This term break was quite eventful for Ishan as he went to Mount Bromo to see the active volcano near Surabaya, Indonesia. It was an interesting sight, especially since he had to reach the volcano on a pony! The second half of the break was even more fun with his grandparents and cousin visiting him for the first time in Singapore!

Aadit’s Bengali New Year

Aadit and his family celebrated Bengali New Year with an elaborate Bengali meal. His favourites were the desserts - Malpoa (fried sweet cheese) with Kulfi (almond ice cream) and Jilipi (crispy fried chickpea flour with saffron) and rabri (milk cream). He ate about 7 Jilipis and it was his best loved dish. After he finished he proclaimed “Now I am finally happy!”

Zair took a trip to Perth with his family and enjoyed a few outdoor picnics/meals. He met the Kangaroos and Koalas. We had a lovely family holiday with many outdoor meals and a visit to the chocolate factory.

I went to brunch with our good friends Alexa, Chloe and Keannu. They are much older than me. There was a chocolate fountain where you used sticks to dip strawberries and marshmallows into the chocolate and then covered them with sprinkles. After brunch, we all went to the library and they helped me pick out books.

This marks our second annual solo trip for Zed and mommy. Luckily, the cherry blossom season was delayed to April, allowing us to enjoy both skiing and the full Sakura bloom. Zed had a blast on the slopes and savored a delicious crepe to top off an adventurous day.

I love udon especially after skiing! I love the thick noodles and the warm broth. Some places also serve it with a fried prawn tempura. YUM!

Heloise gave nice foods (Carrot to her friend pony) in Jeju Island and did ride her.

Peking Duck

This holiday I discovered my new favourite food - Peking Duck! What makes peking duck special is the delicate and crispy duck skin, served with thin wraps and hoisin sauce. I tried a total of 3 restaurants serving Peking Duck, one at Capella Hotel, one at Imperial Treasure at Paragon, and one at Marina Square. They were all yummy in their own way, and everyone prepares Peking Duck a little differently.

Hyunseo loves songs from Matilda

Hyunseo and mom finished reading “Matilda” by Roald Dahl and went to watch the musical (twice). Hyunseo loved the songs, especially “naughty” and “when I grow up”, and has been singing them everyday. The songs say “Even if you are little, you can do a lot, you mustn’t let the little things like “little” stop you” “nobody else is gonna put it right for me, nobody but me is gonna change my story, sometimes you have to be a little bit naughty”, “when I grow up, I will eat sweets every on the work and I will go to bed late every night”. Hyunseo went to holiday camps and enjoyed playing football and games everyday. He also loved having the ‘big breakfast’.

During the term break I had a fun filled, exciting family get-together in Mumbai. We ate a lot...travelled the city...watched a movie. I tried many new cuisines, ate a traditional Gudi Padwa (New year) meal, tried 'gulukand' a sweet made from rose petals and went for high tea!

I went for a ride on an auto (tuk tuk) & a local train ride in Mumbai and went to my parents fav restaurant, from when they were students in the city. This was my first trip to Mumbai. I also started my Hogwarts journey with the illustrated version of the Harry Potter series.

While exploring new sights and beaches, David had an opportunity to try out new dishes in Da Nang. Some seemed familiar to ones we eat in Singapore but turned out they tasted very different.

From spring rolls to chicken and seafood prepared in ways unknown. It was an exciting trip to create new memories with mummy, daddy, grandma and his nana.
