Policy:Englands public service agreement
Aims: This was the emergence of well funded physical education, school sport and club links. This raised participation levels because it was being talked about more and happening through schools and after school clubs. The separate nations promoted the subject and the England public service agreement increased the percentage of children spending a minimum of 2 hours each week in PESS. This is also when Scotland decided to train specialist teachers for Primary schools. This was a very good idea as the PE teachers are actually qualified to teach certain sports which is more encouraging for children to join sports specific clubs during school, and actually enjoy participating in pe lessons.
