They open the Galeries Lafayette in 1912 in a small haberdasher. The galeries lafayette is located in the heart of an important catchment area, the store has a strategic position in Paris, Close to the couture district, Printemps department stores and Saint-Lazare railway station.
In 1896, the company has bought a building on the rue Lafayette. In  1903, they bought others building on Boulevard Hausmann and also on  the street la chaussée d'Antin. They have hired a really popular architect to construct the newest buildings.
His name is Georges Chedanne.
The evolution of their company is impressived. They are expanding their store very quickly.
