Act 1, scene 7, line 46-47.
I chose this quote because out of the few options I had left I felt like this one would be the best to say in a real life situation. Lady Macbeth is calling Macbeth a coward for deciding to not kill the king so he comes back at her and says he is willing to do anything to be becoming of a man but if it goes beyond morals then he would not be a man. There are many instances in life where we have the option to do something wrong but as long as we don't choose that option then we may "become a man".

My older sister who attends San Diego State University was telling me that she had taken a test and her teachers TA was helping her with any questions that she had. One of her questions that she had her TA couldn't answer because the person did not know the answer to her question. So her TA leaves to go help someone else and then comes back to her and tells her the answer to the question she was looking for. Although my sister did not ask for the answer, it was given to her, she was happy she got help and made a remark "college is a struggle, you got to do what you got to do." I then said, "I dare do all that may become a man; who dares do more, is none" and she just rolled her eyes and said "oh god, give me a break".

My mom and I were talking about the election and who we thought would win and how it would turn out. We then talked about whether or not we thought that the final results of election in some way was going to be rigged because we saw on the news that in Pennsylvania poll workers were changing Trump votes for Clinton. My mom gave her opinion and then I said, "They dare do all that may become a man; who dares do more; is none." and then she laughed and said very good Ally. She then asked how I was familiar with that line and I told her how we are reading Macbeth in AP Lit and I was working on a project and had to say that line.

'Professional protesters' riot over Trump's election, attacking bystanders and vandalizing cars, property. (Fox News). There is a fine line between protesting because you feel like there was an injustice or you were upset, but when it comes to the point where violence comes into play, that is crossing the line. Peaceful protests are absolutely okay because that is exercising your first amendment right, and comparing this to the quote this would be the example of "I dare do all that may become a man" which would be, being involved in politics, peaceful practicing your rights, and being involved in the community. But then the part "who dares do more is none" is when innocent people are harmed, you get arrested, cars and shops are vandalized etc. That is going too far, that is illegal and that is not how things should be handled.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/11/11/riot-declared-in-oregon-as-anti-trump-demonstrators-damage-cars-buildings.html

V for Vendetta
In the movie V for Vendetta, it is set in a futuristic totalitarian country, England. A women named Evey is in a life or death situation when a mysterious man in a mask comes to her rescue. V outraged with the complete control the government has over the people decides to blow up two important and historic landmarks of England and urges all of the citizens to rise and rebel to take back control. He makes Evie stay at his secret place because she is now in danger of the government as they have put a traitor target on her back. One morning when Evey sits down for breakfast with V, she eats toast and makes a comment how she hasn't had real butter since she was a little girl. She then asks V where he got it from and he responds that he stole it from a government supply train on its way to Chancellor Sutler. She remarks that he is insane and then he replies, "I dare do all that may become a man; who dares do more, is none". V simply wants to restore peace and the power that the people once had. Everything that he is doing is for the greater good of the country and by no means greedy or selfish like the Chancellor and British government. He makes the connection to the play Macbeth because all he wants to do is bring the rights that the people originally had and nothing more. By him doing this and not trying to completely over throw the government it makes him a man because he is doing the right thing without abusing any power.

The quote, "I dare do all that may become a man; who dares do more, is none" can be used in several instances in everyday life as shown in my project. Although no one in modern day life would use this exact line, it can be used to reference corruption and injustice. This quote references people who are in a situation where they have the power to do something that is not necessarily the right thing to do but choose not to because of there morals. The significance of this quote for anyone should always be to choose the right thing to do. It is very easy to get caught up in everything else that goes on in life but as long as you are doing the right thing your conscious will always be clear. The significance of the quote that I mentioned previously was most likely the same for Shakespeare because in the end when Macbeth ended up choosing the morally wrong path that's when his ultimate downfall happened, which led to his death.

The sheriff said Wallace "was calling in the stolen car to dispatch and then everything went silent. When more officers arrived at the scene he was found dead from two close-range gunshots to the head." (CNN News). Today a central California cop was shot and killed after he was investigating a stolen van in the Stanislaus region. This current event relates to the second part of the quote, "who dares do more is none". Committing any crime, especially a violent crime is terrible and killing another person is absolutely heart breaking. Killing a person does not make you a man, it makes you the worst type of human being to exist, that is the worst crime and is beyond immoral. Macbeth said whoever does more to be a man in which you have to kill to get what you want, is no man.
http://today24.my-homeip.com/news/california-deputy-shot-in-the-head-suspect-caught-cnn

(ABC News). A student at Baylor University in Texas has made a claim that she was raped by 5 of the football players from the Baylor team. There is a big difference between dating someone and having an intimate relationship with them and forcibly being intimate with someone. Having a relationship with a women and being intimate is an example of being a man, but doing that forcibly is "doing more" and that is the point to where you are no longer a man.
http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/wireStory/baylor-briles-told-gang-rape-allegation-43489474
