He became a Puritan leader in England.
John Cotten was an important scholar and preacher. He mostly influence America and England. John Cotten was supportive towards the Puritanism, and prosecuted him for allegedly being a puritan, so he fled to America instead of facing trial.
Anne Hutchinson father taught Anne to stand up for herself and think for herself, later on she married Will Hutchinson and they attended church together, the minister was John Cotten. Cotten believed the common things that Anne father believed which match the what the Puritan's believed.
