In 1866, King Wilhelm the first became King Prussia and appointed Bismarck as his Chancellor. After many disputes, Bismarck provoked the French to start a war while Prussia was the dominant force for the unification of Germany. The main man that helped free the slaves for independence was Toussaint L'Ouverture who trained and led the slaves to victory. One of the main causes was the Mexicans wanted to separate from Spain to create a sovereign government, so they could have their own interests. The Mexicans also wanted to overthrow the Diaz dictatorship, because Diaz evicted millions of Mexicans from their homes to make commercial developments. Some of the effects of the revolution are labor rights, universal education, and land reform.
