Millions of people all over the world play digital or online games, which have emerged as a dominant force in modern culture. This essay examines both the benefits and drawbacks they have for people and communities as it digs into the paradox of their effects.

Digital games have the potential to cause addiction, drawing players into never-ending gameplay cycles that interfere with their everyday routines and obligations. Extended gaming sessions can come with health issues like sedentary habits, eye strain, and sleep disruptions. In addition, playing video games too much can cause social isolation, which harms real-world relationships and makes people feel lonely. Concerns about the negative effects of violent games on mental health have been raised by several studies that have revealed a probable connection between aggressive conduct and these games.

Digital games, however, have a lot of advantages. They can improve cognitive abilities since players must solve problems, think critically, and make strategic decisions. Online multiplayer games promote collaboration and social engagement, allowing players to connect with people from various social and cultural backgrounds. By offering an escape from the stresses of daily life, gaming can be a useful stress-relief technique. Additionally, some games, including simulation and instructional games, help players learn new skills and expand their knowledge. These online activities encourage creativity by letting users express it through art, narrative, and game design.

Digital (online) games now form a significant portion of modern entertainment and culture, having both beneficial and detrimental effects on people and society. Positively, since players cooperate in virtual worlds, these games can promote social bonds and teamwork while improving communication and problem-solving abilities. They also offer immersive experiences, a reprieve from difficulties in real life, and a way to escape stress. Digital games can also promote cognitive growth by improving spatial awareness, memory, and strategic thinking.

In conclusion, video games have the potential to both improve and harm people's lives. Their results mostly depend on personal decisions and restraint. It is essential for people to approach digital gaming with mindfulness and responsibility in order to maximize the benefits while minimizing the drawbacks. To ensure that this well-liked type of entertainment continues to be a constructive force in our contemporary world, society must, in turn, promote awareness of the potential repercussions and encourage balanced gaming behaviors.

Reference:
https://kidslox.com/guide-to/positive-and-negative-effects-of-video-games/

https://www.studocu.com/blog/en/positive-negative-effects-of-gaming-on-student-performance

The Dangers of the Internet

Unfortunately, children who use the internet and teenagers in particular frequently encounter cyberbullying. There are many ways for your child to be bullied online by individuals. They know in real life as well as total strangers including instant messaging like testing social networking platforms and chat rooms a whopping 59% of youngsters claim to have experienced internet harassment or bullying.

Young people who are trusting can interact with virtual strangers online including those who they might normally cross the street to avoid in real life. According to John Shehan, the Cybertripline program manager for the national center for missing and exploited children in Alexandria Virgina, one in seven children have been sexually harassed online by reporting instances of young people being coerced into sexual activity online. The Cybertripline works to prevent the sexual exploitation of children.

We all know that social media is a large online flatform and can post publicly. Other people used different social media platforms to bully someone. Maybe some of us experienced this and we know that it was hurting our feelings.

UNICEF is one of the safe zone when it comes into bullying. UNICEF says that all friends joke around with each other, but sometimes it’s hard to tell if someone is just having fun or trying to hurt you, especially online. Sometimes they’ll laugh it off with a “just kidding,” or “don’t take it so seriously.” But if you feel hurt or think others are laughing at you instead of with you, then the joke has gone too far. If it continues even after you’ve asked the person to stop and you are still feeling upset about it, then this could be bullying. And when the bullying takes place online, it can result in unwanted attention from a wide range of people including strangers. Wherever it may happen, if you are not happy about it, you should not have to stand for it.

The feeling of being laughed at or harassed by others, can prevent people from speaking up or trying to deal with the problem. Cyberbullying can affect us in many ways. But these can be overcome, and people can regain their confidence and health. Cyberbullying nowadays is very alarming. They can cause a depression and turn into death. Guiding your children while using the internet is a must. This can protect your child from danger on the internet. We all know that depression nowadays is very popular especially in the young ones.

In conclusion, the elderly must watch and monitored their children for their own safety. As we all know, our technology is booming and we, people must use it according to our needs and not into bullying. We should always the “Think before you click” slogan so that we can’t harm anyone. We can make change and let the people realized that what we do in social media can affect one individual. Protect our children and stop cyberbullying.

Reference:
https://www.webmd.com/parenting/features/4-dangers-internet

AI Tools: A Help or a Hindrance?

In simple terms “Artificial Intelligence” refers to modeled algorithms software which tries to establish decisions which are similar to human brain’s decision mechanism. AI is the umbrella term for everything that has to do with giving machines “intelligence” in an effort to mimic human beings’ distinctive cognitive abilities. This is accomplished through the use of algorithms that glean patterns and insights from the data they are exposed to for use in making predictions and making future decisions. When it comes to Artificial Intelligence (AI), there are two opposing viewpoints those are enthused by its potential and those who are alarmed by it.

One of the most notable benefits of AI technologies is its capacity to automate tedious and time-consuming processes, allowing people to focus on more difficult and creative tasks. By processing and analyzing huge volumes of data at rates that humans cannot match, AI-powered systems enable faster decision-making and more accurate predictions in industries such as finance, healthcare, and manufacturing. For example, in the healthcare industry, AI systems may be able to diagnose and treat patients faster than human radiologists by detecting patterns and anomalies in medical images. AI tools can also increase productivity by performing intelligent assessments and making intelligent recommendations. AI-powered business intelligence software can filter through massive volumes of data to reveal fascinating patterns, allowing companies to make data-driven decisions and locate untapped markets.

Despite these benefits, there are still worries about the usage of AI tools. The possibility of job relocation is a major source of concern. As AI progresses, many jobs that are currently performed by people are in risk of being automated. While this may enhance output and productivity, it also raises concerns about unemployment and economic inequality. Society must address the impact of AI on the workforce while also providing opportunity for displaced workers to transition into new positions or gain new skills.

Another issue is the potential for AI technologies to propagate prejudice and bigotry. Because current data is used to train AI algorithms, those biases may be included unintentionally. When it comes to recruiting, for example, AI systems may inadvertently favor certain groups or preserve preconceived notions. To ensure fairness and equality in AI-assisted decision-making, these biases must be identified and minimized. Privacy and security are also key concerns with AI systems. Because these systems collect and process massive amounts of personal data, there is a risk of unauthorized access or data misuse. Furthermore, AI systems are vulnerable to manipulation and hacking, which could have disastrous consequences. Strong privacy safeguards must be implemented, as well as AI system security.

To summarize, AI systems have the potential to be both beneficial and harmful. They have the potential to boost productivity, accuracy, and safety in a wide range of industries, but they also raise concerns about job displacement, discrimination, and privacy. It is vital for society to approach the deployment of AI technology with caution, putting in place the necessary protections and constraints to maximize their benefits while limiting any negative implications. Only then will we be able to fully fulfill AI's potential to create a better and more equitable future.

Reference:
https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/artificial-intelligence-help-hindrance-anil-lamba-mba-cisa?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_android&utm_campaign=share_via
