QUESTIONS:
1) A state of period when there is not disturbance; when someone feels safe.
2) One example is the persons (police) that our school, tecnológico de Monterrey, provide to us students to maintain order and the security.
3) For us, peace is synonym of tranquility. Peace is the way a society interact and how all problems and disconformities are talked. Peace guide us to union instead of fights.
4) We believe that if there’s no peace between countries or even in one, it is very difficult that other countries specially the ones related or near to the one that is in conflict could be in a stable way. Mexico is know for having a bad organization in the security.
5) Culture and art is a big part of us and who we are, they are ways in which we can express how we feel and transforms us to unite as a society. Culture and art can unite disconforme and express ideas, this creates a peaceful environment in different groups of people and a safe place to say what you think and be respected. Art and culture can unite us, makes us feel understood and good in our world.

INDIVIDUAL REFLECTIONS
Fernanda Bravo: I consider that “peace” is a very difficult concept to actually obtain and implement. Specially, because nowadays we are a lot of persons with differents objectives and perspectives of peace. So this make it more complicated to achieve. So to implement peace in a community we must consider the necessity and what the persons want.

Fernanda Martinez: Peace, for me is one of the most important components in society. Peace helps create a respectful and equal environment where people listen and see what others do and think. Peace can affect society in a positive side by giving a better place to opinions also being part of a better community association. Peace is the base of a good relationship between us and good communication to alway remember and listen before acting. With peace our society could have done many steps different through our history, many wars would have been saved and many people who gave their life because of violence con have donde differently. Sometimes taking the peaceful route is the solution for many conflict resolutions.

Morelia Alvarado:

1. The state of being relaxed, secure, happy, comfortable, without problems
2. In Tec de Monterrey community we have security provided by security guards, a health center, mental health groups, etc. Most of the time we are surrounded by a peaceful environment, there are no students fights, most of the teachers value great values and the classes are a safe space
3. Creation of student groups dedicated to physical and mental health, constant monitoring provided by our tutors, use of turnstiles in every entrance to verify that only students and staff of the community can access the school
4. It helps to compare and reflex on how we are doing with those topics, in order to get assistance between us and try to get better
5. The main role is to be a way to communicate and express what are we thinking, what we what to change, proposals, etc

1. To us, peace is the complete state of harmony with ourselves and everything that surrounds us, such as people, situations, etc.
2. In our community, ideally, peace would mean people feeling safe and generally a more safe and respectful environment in our cities. Also, more economic stability which would result in a calmer state of mind.
3. We think that the implementation of security cameras around the city, deployment of policemen and women in "dangerous" zones, education for everyone, etc.
4. We think that in every way possible because at the end of the day, we all live in the same world and we all are part of a worldwide society which is humanity.
5. Every society has a culture that is made up of traditions, values, and history of the country. This is directly related to how people may act toward certain situations and relations with other people. On the other hand, art is intrinsically related to humanity. Art is a way of expressing what we feel without having a barrier of language or even ideology. We feel that people accept other ideas more easily through art.

INDIVIDUAL REFLECTION ZOÉ: In my opinion, peace is a subjective term that may vary from person to person as well as from experiences to experiences. Our community has made efforts to start decreasing violence and increasing the state of peace heavily desired by so many people for such a long time. I think that peace is not something that we can achieve overnight especially when the problem has existed and has been in the made for so much time. I think it is something that slowly will be getting better and better if we all work towards the goal supporting each others.

Cultural movements are important for the wellbeing of a society.

Mario indivual reflection:
I personally think that peace and violence are concepts that complement each other in some way. There cannot exist peace without violence and both are not doable at 100% because of this. The objective of today's society should be to achieve the most peaceful environments while controlling the violent outbursts. We can do this by reinforcing security implemented by govenment laws and incrementing social awarness.

Rebeca: The well-being of people has a lot to do with if they feel secure and in peace in their own community. Sadly, most of the people say that they don’t live in peace because of how insecure are the streets and sometimes they don’t feel secure in their own homes.

1) Peace, to me, is a state of harmony and tranquility where individuals and communities coexist without fear, conflict, or violence. It encompasses not only the absence of war or physical violence but also the presence of justice, equality, and mutual respect. Peace is a condition that allows people to pursue their aspirations, express their opinions, and live their lives without constant threat or anxiety.
2)

Low crime rates

Access to quality education and healthcare

Inclusivity and diversity

Effective conflict resolution mechanisms

3)

Community policing

Neighborhood watch programs

Community centers and programs

Social services

Conflict resolution workshops

4)

Economic stability

Refugee crises

Terrorism and extremism

Global diplomacy

5)

Fostering understanding

Raising awareness

Healing and reconciliation

Advocacy and activism

Cultural diplomacy

Laura Reflection:
Reflecting on the questions about peace and security, it's evident that these concepts are not only fundamental but also intricately connected to our lives and the world at large.

Peace, to me, embodies a state of profound tranquility and harmony. It's a condition where individuals coexist without the shadow of conflict or violence, and where justice, equality, and respect thrive. Peace means more than just the absence of turmoil; it signifies the presence of an environment in which people can freely pursue their dreams and live without constant fear.

In my community, peace and security take on various forms. Low crime rates indicate that residents can navigate their neighborhoods without trepidation. Strong social bonds create a sense of belonging, with neighbors looking out for one another during both good times and bad. Access to quality education and healthcare ensures that everyone has a fair shot at a good life. Inclusivity and diversity are celebrated, guaranteeing that every voice is heard. Effective conflict resolution mechanisms provide a peaceful means of addressing disputes.

Mariel reflection:
Our community has taken proactive steps to maintain peace and security. Community policing builds trust between law enforcement and residents. Neighborhood watch programs empower us to actively contribute to our safety. Community centers and social programs provide positive outlets and support networks. Social services address issues like poverty and homelessness. Conflict resolution workshops equip us with the tools to resolve disagreements amicably.

Peace and security are not isolated concepts; they have global implications. When conflict rages in one corner of the world, it can disrupt the global economy, trigger refugee crises, fuel terrorism, and complicate international relations. Thus, the well-being and security of nations are interconnected, highlighting the importance of diplomacy, cooperation, and collective responsibility on a global scale.

1. No war, moment were everything is in calm and easy going state
2. Reliance with others, continous surveillance. Examples given, security buttom, ce tralized police checkpoints, wide variety of cameras around the city
3. More prepared officers, wide knowledge of security and peace in Mexico
4. Mexico has an image in which there is no security and a place were you should not trust others, in other words we do not have high quality security
5. Education, tradition do not allow the spread message of love, justice, security for further generation

Reflections:

Tonny: For me the term of peace is somewhere were you can trust in everyone inside you circle, however, due to the lack of values some mexicans have there are situations in which tristing others is kinda difficult. In Mexico we have the attitude were everyone is like a brother for us, as mentioned previously there are people who do not follow this believement. It would be easier if since childhood this message was spreaded or at list in view for others, as an example there are communities were everyone is in harmony with others were the thought of sharing is not wrong and it means that everyone is ok with helping others

Toño: The notion of peace holds significant value and delicacy, exerting a deep influence on the community to which I belong. In the contemporary global context characterized by rapid interconnectivity, the concept of peace extends beyond the mere absence of war to encompass the essential elements of justice, equality, and collaboration. I have personally observed the positive impact of a tranquil setting on the development, cohesion, and overall welfare of individuals within my local community. This facilitates the prioritization of shared objectives, fostering a feeling of inclusivity and security. On the other hand, the lack of peace has the potential to disrupt the state of harmony, impede growth, and foster feelings of animosity.

Upon contemplation of the concept of peace, one is prompted to acknowledge the imperative of actively fostering it via the cultivation of empathy, engaging in discussion, and attaining a comprehensive understanding. In a society frequently characterized by conflict, the promotion of peace within my local community has a heightened significance, beyond mere personal inclination to become a moral obligation.

Emi: Peace can be defined as a lot of things depending on the previous experiences and context of the people, for some people it may just be the lack of violence. This just make people ask for so many different things when looking for a state of peace and in some of the cases this may difficult the complete achievement of this. Because for some people it would be more than enough certain proposals or actions meanwhile for others these won’t be sufficient. Also, violence is a problem with a great background that requires a lot of combined actions in a society. Making peace more difficult to achieve in a society

1. Peace is the lack of conflict and violence at some place or situation.
2. There is not that much peace in Mexican society, nevertheless, between people we confide in, there is trust and therefore, peace. For example, between our family and among our close friends.
3. From our perspective, we are respectful and inclusive with everyone regardless of our differences. And superiors have been trained to avoid any type of violence.
4. We can take inspiration from the actions taken in other countries to improve the security in our society. Conflict can only lead to more conflict, if there is no violence in a country, the measures they took could be spread around the world in order to reach the utopia that is world peace.
5. It is a from of expression when it is present or when it is not. It has been used as a way of combatting wrong-doings in history. For example, War paintings, poems about insecurity, etc.
Individual reflection:
Ezra: I personally believe that world peace or total peace is a utopia as it cannot be achieved due to the human factor. As we all develop in different manners and posses distinct beliefs, we are not able to organize in such a way that it can allow us to achieve this dream of a conflict-less society. Nonetheless, partial peace is needed for advancing as a society and living in a nigh-perfect world. In the aforementioned nigh-perfect society, peace would be common, in an obvious manner there would still be room for improvement due to the fact that the human race is not perfect but rather perfectible.

Joaquín: I think that peace is a very important factor that should be present everywhere. However, it is not possible to have worldwide peace because there are plenty of humans that will only look for themselves not worrying about others well-being, that is why there are wars, people with a lot of power want more and more and they don't care about others. In my family and close friends it is present because we all respect each other and we try to look after each other. It would be a perfect world if peace comes everywhere, but it will never be possible.

Luis: Personally, I think that the concept of peace does not exist because it is an abstract term. As human beings, our concept of peace can be referred to as an inclusive environment, where everybody’s differences are included and respected. This obviously affects our communities as students because since we have our differences, we belong to the same community and try to get along with it during our academic journey. Achieving and maintaining peace requires empathy, diplomacy, and the willingness to resolve differences peacefully. In conclusion, It's a fundamental aspiration for humanity, essential for progress, and a testament to our capacity for compassion and unity.

Not allowing illicit substances, weapons of any kind, security in key places and dogs to detect any of the above.
4. there are different impacts that security in other countries can impact in everyone, for example when the security is really poor it can obligate people to migrate in the other hand when there is a good security system it can be a immigration focus or an example for other countries
5. It depends on the culture the way that you perceive peace and the way that you transform it into art

reflection:
Axel:
For me peace is something relative to every person and community, but it can depends on the type of community you live if the perspectives of the people that surrounds you is similar or completely different, for example in places like Africa where in some places are wars the expectation of peace can be completely different to persons that live in places like Germany that are used to a space really calm and secure where the security measurements are actually followed by the people.

Oriana:
This work is useful as a reflection of what does peace mean for me and why it can be different por other people, at the same time it is a way of remembering what does the lack of peace can cause and how does this can affect other people’s lives, at the same time we can reflect about our surroundings and our privileges having in count our social state and the places that we frequently visit and why does this places use to have more security than in other parts, there are some questions that give space to the introspection and why does everything that we have experienced influenciates our perspective of peace.

Peace is the lack of desire to harm others in any way, be it physical or emotional.

In our community, which is Tec CCM, we can see that there is a lot of security. For example, there are guards in every entrance, protocol "Mochila segura", and the K9 unity. Therefore, we are in a peaceful and safe environment.

Security in other countries affects us as the internal safety of one place reflects as a peaceful behavior to other countries.

Culture and art help us reflect what the feelings of people regarding this topic is.

Reflections:

Memo: I believe that achieving absolute peace is quite difficult. People will always have different perspectives and ideals, they won't always agree, so instead of seeking a solution, people tend to use violence. Peace is the lack of violence in any aspect, be it physical or emotional. People's violent behavior to each other when they don't agree doesn't allow us to be in a pacific state, which leads to insecurity. When people are insecure, they start acting violent, which leads to more violence. Therefore, achieving absolute peace in our modern society is very difficult, if not impossible.

David: I think this idea is very debatable. This is because of the many perspectives that exist around the world. The debatable part exists when two people or groups want the other one to follow their idea, even though that is an idea that is against the concept of peace. Imposing others to sth. they do not agree with. This conflict of interest affects our community in dividing it into two parts. If our community doesn´t come up with a solution to this conflict, then it will only cause more and more problems and there will be a possibility of the ending of the community. Everyone would be by their side and not be thinking in the common good

Hector:
For me, peace is illusional and impossible, in my opinion real peace is the lack of the desire to harm others, this cannot be done as I consider harm is a part of human nature, we don't really value the lives of the others. The peace that we live in, not just in my community but in the world, is fake, it is just the absence of violence, but in a discrete manner everyone is trying to destroy or compete with someone. Real peace is an ideal that cannot be reached, but instead we should try reaching a "peace" where most violence is eradicated, starting by avoiding wars.

For us peace means a state in which everyone within a society is satisfied with how their social system works. People have liberty, respecting others rights and having justice and equality.
In our community peace and security don’t work really well, they apply only in people with privilege. They tend to work better when there is money or contacts who facilitate it involved. For example we have a country where there are a lot of accusations for rapes or violations to human rights and they just go to a list of crimes that remain impune.
There have been a lot of strikes that focus on different social issues that involve peace and security for various groups of people, they have made some changes in law and how the social system work but they took a lot of time, effort and personal sacrifices.
We would say that the way peace and security are managed in other countries gives us ideas of how to improve our system or what not to do in order to not degrade our society.
The role of culture and art while talking about peace and security, in the case of art expressing society’s needs or portray their normality, social norms and principles. In the case of culture, it involves how people are raised and taught to treat others, themselves and how to react to different situations, it is strongly related with how “peace” works and how security and laws are controlled.
Ana Lau:
For me peace is something essential for a community to work and be sustainable, sadly most people in the world do not live in this state. In the case of my country the way security is managed affects directly on how peaceful people are and how they react to different situations that occur daily. The thing with peace is that it is something subjective, meaning there are many opinions and perspectives of what it is and how to obtain it. The problem is that people have a hard time understanding that and getting to an agreement of how to achieve that goal.
Pato:
Some times people confuse peace with being quiet, I think some of the problems with society have to do with the lack of peace but how can a person have peace with the world without having peace with themselves. It is sad to think that some people have to succumb to violence to feel good with themselves and what they have to achieve. Yo have peace we need to eradicate violence with a solution that helps everyone get ahead with life, if everyone lowers their prices at the same time, it’s really dumb to think but I don’t see any reasons why not, but I just think about that. I would like a world without violence
