#01 Recalling what has happened or said and deducing what has gone wrong to find a better way to do/ say it. #02 Using Reflection Practice on Personal level will allow me to be a better person to self and to others. It will develop better relationship with others. On Professional level, I will be able to be better skilled in my task or job. #03 My barrier to Reflective Practice is perhaps the unwillingness to recall or remember what has happened. (may be due the pain or the unpleasant feeling it will bring about). To overcome this I need to have the mindset that it is for the better of self as well as for the future.

No.1 RP is the process where you go through the experience in your mind and separates out what went well and what not, from the findings form a hypothesis. Later test it out. if it went well document it for further case studies, if not , what change can implemented. And its an on going process. No.2 To have better manage the situations in both personally and work areas. No.3 when the situation is unpredictable and fluid. the solution after individual approach, engage others to co-analyze and roll out potential solutions. two or three heads are better than one.

I think that the main barrier will be time. We are always busy with something and if we have free time, we will want to rest our mind and not think of anything. We also do not have the habit to do reflections, it will never be on our to-do list. I think one way to overcome this is to specifically set aside time for reflection. It does not have to be long, maybe just 15-30mins. Or we can do it when we are taking the public transport on the way home, or having a note book or even phone to write down our thoughts anywhere we go.

It is a process where an individual engages in intentional reflection to learn from experiences and learn continuously. Reflective practice allows us to avoid past mistakes and look at things from a different perspective, allowing us to develop new ideas. This will challenge our current practices to improve what we are currently doing as well as maximise opportunities for learning.

I feel that time and energy is the biggest barrier to reflective practice. Sometimes it’s hard to reflect when all you are trying to do is finish the day and finish the things on your to-do-list. When you are mentally drained, any forced reflection is not efficient nor helpful to better yourself. The best reflections happen without you thinking.
I find that it helps to have a routine where you can reflect (<5 min) and unwind before leaving school. Then you leave all those thoughts in school instead of bringing them home to ruminate when you mentally don’t have the energy to deal with those things.

This may sound sick or nerdy, but people around me tend to comment that I "think too much", so I believe I'm constantly on reflection mode, thinking over various events in my life, because to some extent, reflecting does give me pleasure, in terms of enabling me to understand myself better and be self-assured to gain a better understanding of what I truly want through reflections. Hence, a barrier that might cause me to stop reflecting would be when the event that happened in my life is something I deem to be insignificant to my life, and not worthy of my brain's bandwidth to be invested in reflecting. Or when an event or topic is not within my interests, I might also not be too keen to invest braincells to reflect on them.

To overcome my barriers of being apathetic towards certain events such that I'm not willing to invest time to reflect on them, I try to overcome these barriers through curiosity. By being curious and exposing myself to more areas to widen my general knowledge, I would hopefully be able to make connections that what I thought I was apathetic towards might well be linked to an area of my interest, as things can possibly be rather interconnected if we make efforts to find their connections. This is one way which might spark my interest to start reflecting on things I once had the barrier of having felt apathetic towards reflecting it.
