MANDATORY -- 1st year - Why do you want to be a nurse? When did you decide you wanted to be a nurse? Did anyone or anything influence your decision?

There is no specific moment when I realised that this profession could be my future, maybe I knew it all along.

I started my first year of university choosing another faculty and after that moment it became clear to me that this was not what I wanted or what I thought for me, so I decided to take a chance, despite the mixed opinions of the people around me, I chose to try and to this day I am here, more aware and sure that this is the path for me.

It is because the moment I try to help someone, the moment I am on the ward, the moment I relate to a patient or a caregiver, the moment when I’m in uniform, everything else falls away and I am in a bubble of happiness and gratitude.

How did you feel about your first rotation? What ward were you in?

My first day of internship was truly a set of emotions, I was afraid of not being up to it, but even more excited to approach for the first time in that world.

My first ward was neonatal surgery, in my opinion one of the most beautiful there is.

I thought it was an exciting ward, but I didn't know that each of those little patients would have stayed permanent in my heart

Grey’s Anatomy is a tv series set on the life of Meredith Grey, daughter of an excellent surgeon, which leads her to carry her own weight on her shoulders.

Important in this series is the friendships formed with the people with whom Meredith shares her years as a medical intern, but especially the love that born with a man she met one night in a bar, who turns out to be the neurosurgeon at Seattle Grace Hospital.

Suffering farewells, excellent comebacks, characters hovering between life and death, you can tell how this series, though very long, creates a real passion that grows with the characters.

It is one of my favorite series as it has conveyed to me not only very strong emotions, but passion toward what is the hospital environment.

In the neonatology ward, between a mother and a nurse.

Mom = I'm worried because my son doesn't seem to be getting better.

Nurse = Mrs don't worry, it takes time, in small steps and with determination everything will surely go well.

Mom = Do you think we will be able to go home and give him a peaceful childhood?

Nurse = Madam, this period will, one day, be just a memory and a lesson for all of you, including the little warrior.

Mom = I hope so, I thank you for all you do every day for us parents and our little treasures.

Nurse= Compared to the joys you give back to us, what we do is nothing.
