Today was Christmas! It was really nice.  The dinner was tasty 😋 and the day was overall splendid.  I loved spending the day with my family.  My favorite gifts were the funko pops that started my collection.  

For Secret Santa, Emma D gave me the Dwight one, which started the collection.  For Christmas I actually received the Pam, Jim, Peeta, Katniss, and Race (newsie).  After Christmas (I am writing this in May 2021 lol) I bought the Micheal Scott, Eleanor Shellstrop, Chidi Anagonye, and Micheal Realman.

Today was Emma D’s 14th birthday!! I’ve been friends with her since 7th grade (2 years).  I found an egg carton in my fridge that expired on her birthday and I thought it would be funny to give her the egg that died on the anniversary of her birth because it’s ironic.  She was very confused at first but it was a funny confusion because she wouldn’t expect anything else from me, a silly goose.  I also stuffed 12 of Emma’s squirrel bitmoji into a balloon, with streamers also inside, that she popped and they went flying around the table.  She hates the bitmoji which is why I thought it would be funny, which it was.

So today I read an article about this woman who accidentally put glue in her eye instead of saline solution and it made me feel really paranoid lol.  The woman’s contact saved her eyesight, even though she had to endure a 3 hour medical procedure to get the glue out anyway.  Here is an image of the Live Science article you read with the contact covered in glue.  Even though I don’t have glue in my bathroom I put away all the bottled glue in cabinets I would never sleep walk to.  I was paranoid because I do this type of thing all the time, day and night, with face wash and hand soap?? I know I may just be an idiot but I put hand soap on my face and face wash in my hair ALL. THE. TIME. It’s getting kind of annoying but I always do it and I can’t figure out how to stop 😂.

Today I went to the tunnel again, and it was a lot of fun!  I finally mastered a few skills I had been working on, and I'm proud of myself.  Although not in the video, I can now transition from sit to head-down by doing a front flip, which I'd been working on.  

I've been going to the tunnel since age 9, and have competed twice nationally, but this is when I've peaked!  I suppose any time I improve I "peak" but I can finally do what I thought the pro's could when I was a belly flyer!  Now I just have to match the pro's that can fly upside down better than I.

I can't wait for 2021 Nationals in Texas!  Yeehaw

I love writing! It’s one of my hobbies.  

My main project is this dystopian novel where the government removed fears from the people but sometimes it doesn’t always work.  The kids take a test at age 15/16 to see if they have fears or not (which they know if they do) and are then killed if they do.  The main character is fearful but is documented, unlike her sister who is fearful but remains hidden because she can’t hide her fears.  The sister’s possible death after she’s taken is what drives the story.  

I also have been working on a SciFi tragedy.  The main family (narrator- dad with wife and twin boys, as well as dad’s sister and brother in law as well as niece) is voted to sent to space to stop a dangerous gas from entering earth’s atmosphere, but is really a suicide mission.  The main character (narrator) dies and it switches to the wife’s perspective. My goal is to make my readers cry so I’ve been working on developing my character’s into likable and relatable personalities.

I also write poems! Whenever I have writers block with my novels I take a break and write a poem.  Some of them are stupid like when I wrote a poem about “Oogenesis” before I knew what it meant, a poem about the “🙃” emoji, and a rap about Robespierre.  However I also wrote a more serious poem called “Posies”, which I added ukulele chords to and is now a song.  I have them attached on my creative response block.

Sometimes I write sketch comedy but it’s hard to film them since I don’t have the materials or knowledge to build a set lol.

Like playing the ukulele, writing is a stress reliever for me.  It’s like entering the world of a book but I decide what happens.

Even though I learned ukulele 3 years ago, I stopped playing just because I hated taking lessons.  Over quarantine I picked it up again and I’ve improved a lot!! It’s super fun and I practice every day.  Sometimes it relieves my headaches and improves my mood.  I know this is silly but because of that I almost think of it as a magical instrument.  When I first picked it up I tried playing the Gravity Falls theme song, but there’s a tricky chord so I still haven’t fully mastered it!  Now that I’ve practiced soo much I can play “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”, “At Least It Was Here”, “Riptide”, “Take Me Home, Country Roads” (my FAVE), “Soul Sister”, the wii theme song, and “Für Elise” by memory!  I’m so proud of myself and my improvements.  Attached is the link to the drive footage of me playing the chorus of each of the (normal) songs listed above! :D

So I’m writing this entry today but the story actually begins on the 14th of April, nearly 3 weeks ago. 

Everyday when I get to school I tell my parent (this time it happened to be Dad) that I love them and then close the door.  I always shut it while grasping the door on both dies, my thumb being in the inside.  On 4/13/21, I got out of my dad’s truck at school and I didn’t whip my thumb out in time.  My dad drove away because I didn’t make a fuss and he didn’t know until he realized that the door wasn’t shut.  Immediately it hurt a lot and the nail was half blue, almost as if I painted half of it with nail polish (some people actually asked me if I did lol).  At lunch that day it had expanded in size.

When I woke up the next morning my thumb was in unbearable pain.  The blood had taken over the entire nail and had seeped into the cuticle as well as the skin surrounding the nail.  That day my mom took me to Urgent Care. 

At Urgent Care, they took my X-ray and there were no fractures!  They did have to stick a needle through my nail to try to get the blood to drain, and it hurt so much I can’t even describe, but I didn’t want to make a big deal of it so I just kind of clenched the seat.  The nurse saw this and recommended anesthesia because they were going to have to do a lot more holes.  The shots burned but the procedure went way better with it.  They got more holes in the thumb quicker because they didn’t have to wait for me to have a break from the pain. 

When they were finished they wrapped it up in a splint and gave me a sling to drain the blood to the elbow and not the thumb.  I wasn’t very happy about this because I had to go to a friend’s birthday party (JZ) and it was a nerf war ☹️.  It ended up being fine though because I stored the extra bullets I found in my sling 😂. 

Something cool is that one of the nurses’ name’s was Seth Pudney!  I think we’re actually related because he was from New York, the same as my great grandpa, and he looks exactly like a younger version of my  Grandpa.  That was a cool experience.

That was from April 14th to April 16th.

Since then, my thumb has started to heal and hasn’t been hurting much. I picked the skin around the nail so it’s not blue anymore, but apparently I wasn’t supposed to do that so I don’t know what’d going to happen with that.  The nail is hanging onto the cuticle by a hinge and I just feel this desire to pull it off but my mom tells me not to.  When I lift the nail a little I see the tissue and it’s so gross 🤢 so that’s an incentive as to note pull it off 😂. 

I will update when the nail falls off.

Today Florida Governor Desantis lifted the mask mandate!  Now only private companies can enforce the mandate on their own property.  Some don’t agree with him, but I’m a little glad it’s happening.  This means we’re slowly getting closer to living normally.  Heritage, being a private school, can keep the mask mandate, but I hope it’s gone at least after 9th grade.  I can’t wait to come back to school in, hopefully, my sophomore year, and see everyone’s faces for the first time in a while.

For the past two days, my friends and I (Emma D, Clara, Surina, Arianna, Jake, Allen, Andrew and Henry) have been sorting each other into our Hogwarts houses.  Emma’s Raven-Slyth, Surina’s raven, Arianna’s slytherin, Jake’s raven-slyth, Allen is Raven (but tested for hufflepuff- interesting), Andrew’s slytherin (but claims hufflepuff is best), and Henry is Raven-Slyth.  Clara tested for Raven but everyone thinks she’s at least half huffle.  Everyone seems to agree I’m Gryffin-Huffle.  Since I started reading the series I had always tested for Hufflepuff and then the occasional Gryffindor and the rare Ravenclaw, which made some sense at the time.  I took the official pottermore test today and tested for Gryffindor.  I’ve always been friendly and loyal, and although I may not seem it, I’m very outgoing with the people I’ve bonded with.  I never back down from a dare, and play one normal sport as well as 2 extreme sports (Volleyball, Tunnel, and Parkour).  This is probably what puts me in Gryffindor.  For Ravenclaw, although I’m fairly intelligent and do well in my classes, academics isn’t my one focus in life.  Ravenclaws are creative, and I want to say I am but I think I’m more imaginative than creative (due to my writing aspirations).  I’m determined, strong willed, and act as a leader some times, which puts me in slytherin, but I don’t think I belong there.  In the end, I think I’m equal parts Gryffindor and Hufflepuff.  I’m outgoing, daring, and fit, but also friendly, loyal, dedicated, and honest.  I hope I’m the same way by the time I read this at the end of Senior year.  If not, I hope I’ve branched out to meet all of the good aspects of the different houses.  I’d like to broaden my personality.

I just saw this and am so disgusted 🤢. 

I watched a Dr. Phil episode about a 15 year old boy who was attracted to his young siblings and told his parents that he was afraid he was going to do something to them or other children, so they sent him to treatment.  They then found out that the boy had molested two five year olds already, which I think is just insane.

I simply can’t believe people like that are out in this world.  It’s one of my few fears, because I’m close with victims of this type of crime.  I get grossed out every time I hear a story about this.  I’m glad he got caught.

I read TSN first because I had higher expectations for TFIOS based off the fanbase.  TSN was good, but I was a little disappointed.  The plot doesn’t end well so that was sad but it would make sense if it were reality so I understand it.  I never thought I would ever say this but TSN wise, the movie was better than the book.

I read TFIOS second and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!! It’s now my favorite book of all time and as of now I have read it 9 times, each with new annotations!
