Dear Elizabeth, The days are getting shorter and colder and I can feel myself getting weaker. It breaks my heart not knowing if you’re okay and not being able to be there for you and Lily. Asher misses you more than anything. Around this time of year we’d celebrate Hanukkah. Unfortunately this year we can only pray for everyone and hope to see each other soon. More and more people disappear everyday, where do they go? What's going to happen to us? These thoughts keep me up at night. I wish I could protect you and lily. 

Me and Asher have to work construction morning till night and there's no sympathy for anyone at all, doesn't matter if you’re sick or if you're bleeding, we have to get the job done. I wonder how these people are so cold and so evil, how can they watch us struggle and die and not care? 

I feel as if i'm going crazy, i just wish this could all be over. This is no life to live, please stay strong my love and take care of yourself and Lily.

                            Dear Lily, Happy Birthday!! I know times are tough with everything going on with the war and us being separated from each other but please stay hopeful. It was extremely tough leaving you, Asher and your mom to go and fight but it's the right thing to do. I wish I could be there for your birthday, just don't forget how much i love you!! I know that the gas attack threats and raids along with rationing must be scary but make sure you put your safety first and be careful. You’re a very strong girl, I know I can trust you to look after your mom and little brother. That means helping each other with meals, and clothes and not being too hard on one another. It might feel lonely without all of us together as a family but just remember that you are always in my heart and I think about you guys day and night. One day we will be together again! Stay strong Lily and have the best birthday ever.

                                   Dear Abby, I heard that you and your family are staying elsewhere because you got evicted. Times are so tough right now, my mom is struggling with her job and my dad can't afford to pay the bills. I'm scared we're going to become homeless. I really miss you Abby and I hope everything is okay with your family, I wish there was something we could do to help you guys. Although i don’t necessarily understand everything that's going on it feels like the world has gone bad, everyone is stressed with hardly any food, clothes or money. I feel bad for my parents. I don't know how to explain everything to my little brother, I don't want to make him worry or think that our life is over, he's only so young and hasn't even gotten to live much of his life yet. Hopefully within time things get better and everything isn't so expensive and messed up. I miss going to the beach with you, eating dinner with our families, playing games and you being such a great best friend. I pray to see you soon abby. Stay strong and be safe. Tell your family that we wish them the best!!
