To provide each student with the opportunities to flourish, their developmental needs must be identified and accommodated to ensure each student has an equal likelihood of success. I believe that school counselors are responsible for contributing to a support network to assist students in their education, preparedness, and socio-emotional well-being for future success. Additionally, I think that school counselors should create, implement, and assess school counseling program activities, as well as use systemic data to evaluate program effectiveness, address student needs, monitor progress, and make program decisions. Finally, I think that the ASCA's ethical standards provide school counselors with the ethical guide, professional direction, and guidance to conduct themselves correctly, as well as inform stakeholders of the standards that a school counselor should be held to.
