There is no significance to how I was named other than my mom and dad were both able to agree on a name that they liked. The spelling of my name came from my parents deciding they like the way "Leyla" looked over the other options.

a. The only person I admire who has the same name as me is Leila Hurst, a professional surfer.

b. I have never had a nickname that I've gone by.

c. I love my name because it is less common. Also, from my research I have found that I am the only "Leyla Shill" in the world. I like having a unique, but simple name like that. However, if I ever had to change my name I would change it from the Arabic spelling to the Hawaiian spelling, "Leila", because I like Hawaiian culture more than the Arabic culture.

d. People rarely say my name correctly. Usually when they realize what it is they say "oh, like the Eric Clapton song, Layla", then they proceed to sing it to me. The spelling of my name seems to be the main reason behind why people have a hard time saying or reading my name correctly.
