Students campaigned, gave speeches & voted. Now they have a voice in different service learning projects our school will participate in this year and the opportunity to propose new ideas for our school.

When I tell them that they can check it out anyway and read it for FUN, because they WANT to, there is almost always a sigh of relief from the student and a smile on their face as they respond, "OK!"  Letting them know that's OK and allowing them that freedom of choice is empowering.

With my Technology Facilitator we wrote a $81,000 grant and won it to start Maker Space! My students loved being able to create their own projects, chose their tools and materials. I loved how they would share with me constantly what they made. It was an awesome year, then I moved to Tennessee.
