Fads are things that are super popular for a short period of time, they are things that everybody wants, and then everybody forgets about them. Some fads in the 1920s were crossword puzzles, flagpole sitting, yoyos, pogo sticks, dance marathons, mini-golf, health and fitness crazes, and mahjong. These affected people because for some reason when these things become popular everybody wants them, or wants to do them.

The Great Migration was one of the biggest movements in US history. The Great Migration was when millions of black people moved from the south of the US to the north of the US. They did this because there were a lot more available jobs in these areas. This was an important thing that helped lead to the civil rights movement. This had affects on the US because these cities weren't used to these people being in these cities, and it lead to some conflicts.

In the 1920s we got the first films with color! Previous to this all films were black and white. This was also the decade where we were finally able to match sound with pictures. This means we had the first films with sound. Before these were made films were silent, and sometimes they would have words that you could read. Because all of this progress was being made the film industry was booming. The effect on the US was people were starting to really like watching movies, and shows, and also people wanted to star in them. These films also cost a good amount of money to make. Luckily the Film industries were making lots of money from their films.

The assembly line was still very popular in this decade. It was used for mass producing products such as ford vehicles. The assembly line was a line of people, each person would have a specific job that they would do over and over. There was a job in the assembly line for every step of building something. This had an effect on the US because these created a lot of jobs for people. Which is good. These opened up a lot of jobs for people.
