Kaunas is located in the central part of the country, at the confluence of Nemunas and Neris. The most beautiful parks in the city are Ąžuolynas, Pažaislis and Panemunė. All guests of the city can visit the Kaunas Castle with the newly erected monument to Vitis, admire the architectural ensemble of the Pažaislis Monastery, visit the National Art Museum named after Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis and the Military Museum of Vytautas the Great. An interesting and memorable attraction is Kaunas Fort IX. We are pleased that in our city there is the Lithuanian Zoo and other remarkable historical and architectural objects. We are proud of the best athletes in our city: Lithuanian track and field athlete Liveta Jasiunaitė, Andrius Gūdžius, the entire men's basketball team of Kaunas "Žalgiris", and the women's handball team of Kaunas "ACME -Žalgiris".
