Ratified on August 18, 1920, the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution granted American women the right to vote—a right known as woman suffrage. At the time the U.S. was founded, its female citizens did not share all of the same rights as men, including the right to vote. It was successful towards the start of equality that women deserved.

Women were becoming more productive in the industries but still weren't allowed to vote. women had been trying to win the right to vote since before the Civil War. Activists supported womens suffrage, they believed women were more moral than men and would clense the corrupt world of politics

The way that this amendment affects us now is that women have more rights and are able to do more things . They are also equal to men. They have the right to vote, to be apart of making decisions , to own stores and teach. Women finally have the chance to make a difference and to voice their opinions.
