Bulgaria (officially called the Republic of Bulgaria) is a country in southeastern Europe. 

It is bordered by Romania to the north, Serbia and Macedonia to the west, Greece and Turkey to the south, and the Black Sea to the east.   

The shape of the map remembers alion.

The flag of Bulgaria is a tricolour consisting of three equal-sized horizontal bands of (from top to bottom) white, green, and red.  

Sofia is the capital and the largest city of Republic of Bulgaria. It has 1.3 million people. It is the 15th largest city of the European Union.[3] Sofia is in the west of Bulgaria. It has a humid continental climate. 

  

Sofia is one of the oldest capital cities in Europe; the history of Sofia dates back to the 8th century BC. 

  

Many of the major universities, cultural institutions, and businesses of Bulgaria are concentrated in Sofia.  

In Bulgaria there are 5,664,624 citizens of Bulgarians, 1,200,000 citizens of Turks[9] and 800,000 Citizens of Roma/Gypsies.[10] 

  

Bulgaria is classified as a development country by the EU.
