I believe she portrayed Carrie very well as she showed the unique and quirky side of Carrie that all the other characters are scared of and therefore bully her to make themselves feel better. As the production moves on you get to see the way she connects with the other ensemble roles and slowly build a connection with the Tommy and Sue roles.  She also has amazing natural timing when singing and delivering lines and is aware of exactly how to say the lines to convey her emotions.]]> 2022-03-30 08:37:31 UTC https://padlet.com/georgiahaynes05/influences/wish/2121057233 georgiahaynes05 https://padlet.com/georgiahaynes05/influences/wish/2121092714 29 year old Harriet Payne has performed in community theatre productions such as "Spring Awakening" at The Bull Theatre Barnet and "Beauty and the Beast" at the Victoria Theatre Halifax but her most notable theatre credit is her performance of Bex in the Original West End cast of "Everybody's Talking About Jamie". the role of Bex is a supporting role the reason I have chose this as an influence is because the character traits of Bex is that she is a school girl who follows the crowd and is a bit of a teachers pet, this is a similar to the character construct of Frieda, however through the help and back up of her school friends she speaks her mind and stands up for what's right at the end of the musical. This pathway is very similar to the pathway of Frieda throughout Carrie. Even though the musical is set in the past with a very different story line, the ensemble holds the same power and energy and carries the performance from dance to singing to acting throughout each of the scenes. Without the ensemble the whole performance would feel empty and pointless, the ensemble in Oklahoma! plays a big part in reacting to what's happening and carrying the story. It helps to build the story and pull the performance along so it doesn't feel plain, bleak and boring.
