         <description><![CDATA[<div>I know that there many causes of work-related accidents and illnesses. Work-related accidents can be caused by lifting, pushing, turning, holding, carrying, or throwing heavy objects. <br><br>Repetitive tasks without strenuous effort can also result in stress or strain on some part of the body. <br><br>Slips, trips and falls hazards are also the common causes of work-related accidents. <br><br>Other work-related accidents’ causes are worker being struck, caught or crushed by moving structure, equipment, or material.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I know that long work days can lead to more work place accidents and injuries.<br>If a company does not have enough safety policies in place than that can lead to injuries as well.<br>If safety equipment is not worn properly or not worn at all than you will see an increase in workplace accidents.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I want to learn if companies are going to be doing anything different with their workplace protocols after COVID 19.<br><br>It would also be interesting to see what percentage of companies have a drug test policy in the event of a workplace accident that causes injury.<br><br>Also would be interesting to know if companies have a review board to review accidents and see if their safety protocols need to updated or changed.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Some things I know that cause workplace accidents and illnesses are stress, cumulative trauma disorders (carpal tunnel), and workplace violence.  <br>Some causes of stress are money, work, and the economy.  Other factors are job instability and work/life balance<br>Carpal tunnel and other repetitive stresses on the body have been an issue in the workplace for quite some time now.<br>Workplace violence is now becoming a bigger threat.  There are now more cases of workplace shootings and acts of terrorism</div>]]></description>

Ergonomic keyboards and mice are cheap ways that a company can help reduce carpal tunnel in people who are on a computer all day.<br><br></div>]]></description>

Evacuation protocols or plans along with scheduled and unscheduled drills. Training on CPR, first aid, AED. Proper lighting if lights go out,. Wall mounted mirrors to see around the corner/hallways.  Equipment inspections, proper announcements (kitchen, starting loud equipment) so people are aware of their surrounding.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Most companies are giving employees with extra sick leave in case someone is put under quarantine. <br><br>So far there is no compensation for employees who contract the Covid-19, but there are legislation's that are in the works.  <br><br>Depending on how workmen's compensation is worded, people may be covered is diagnosed with the Coronavirus.</div>]]></description>
