         <title>Alexander Graham Bell</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Alexander was a revolutionary inventor that was born on March 3 1847 in Edinburgh Scotland. Bell attended Edinburgh University although he was mainly self taught and family trained. After Bell met Thomas Watson who helped him develop an apparatus for transmitting sound by electricity. On April 6, 1875 he received a patent for the multiple telegraph which sent 2 signals at a time. On march 7, 1976 he received the patent number 174,565 for the telephone.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Elias Howe was born on July 9, 1819 in Spencer, Massachusetts. Howe spend his childhood and early adult years in a textile factory. After the mill closings due to the panic of 1873 he moved to Cambridge Massachusetts to work as a mechanic. Although Howe didn't come up with the sewing machine he was the first person to receive a patent for it. his sewing machine had very revolutionary features we still see in sewing machines today. He was one of the first people Americans to experiment with steam engines .Evans was the most influential inventor in the early years of the United Sates. Evans Designed the first high pressure steam engine and the first amphibious vehicle.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Robert Fulton was born on November 14, 1765. Fulton had been widely credited with developing the first steamboat. His First steamboat was named North River Steamboat. In 1807 that steamboat went down the Hudson River with passengers from New York City to Albany. The Voyage lasted 62 hours and was a success.
