Review - Anna

Uau, uau, uau... What an incredible short film!

It is about a little girl who is deaf. The film differs from others because, since the beginning, it is excellent, gripping and moving. The highlight of it, for me, is the end, as in this moment we can see how important a person can be to change our life. In this case, the “teacher” teaches the child sign language. But if I have to give my opinion, I'd say she gives her most valuable things, such as love, attention, experiences, etc. Before her arrival, her family didn’t interactuate with her and they didn't take into account her, as they all considered her as different, not normal, not perfect. In fact, as I've said, she is deaf, but with the right support, she will be able to achieve her goals and do whatever she wants in her life.

For this reason, all in all, I'd highly recommend it to anyone. Please, if you've chosen another film, when you can, give it a chance.

I've chosen this one because I'm a teacher and I'm interesting about this affair.

It is about a boy who arrives new in a British school. Probably he come from Africa, because of during the film we can see flashback about his scolarity there.

He misses his friends, his school and his teacher. And as a new kid, there's a classmate trying to annoy him.

I don't write what happens next since I don't want to do a spoiler. Yet, as a teacher sight, what happens next it's very interesting. Sometimes teachers only see facts. What we see and we don't try to undersantd why kids act this way.

This movie teaches us that a smile could be a solution to many problems.

I appreciate your review and I totally agree on your comments.
The film is worth watching it, for its powerful approach into the silent disability the deafness is.
Libby's family, like majority of families, does not have knowledge about deafness. In those cases, the role of a proper professional or teacher is crucial, as it is seen in the film, for that silent little girl to transform into an energetic girl. It´s moving !
I would recommend, as Anna did, to include the film into your to-do-list and enjoy it!

It is a good moment to feel empathy with the artist. We can understand how he feels after he had to flee his country due to war and bombs.
I do believe he is doing a marvelous work of art by recreating the places he had lived in: his neighborhood, his home, as well as showing the wold the magnitude of the destruction and the situation they are in right now.
He does not want that two generations after the war the history and the architecture his ancestors have built , vanished because of the war. So, he is recreating and showing the world the rich culture of the country he comes from, in order nobody forgets how was Siria before being destructed by bombs which obliged families to leave the country and to scatter around the wold.
He shows his beloved country, the place where once upon a time he had been joyful.

I was pleased with this short fiction film which at the begining seemed unconvincing but that gradually keeps you compulsive watching to get what the mystery is about.
I would say the only drawback was the hit-and-run with the typical music along with the sentimental moments that ended up by the common: "Healing is believing".
Do you need a break? All in all I recommend you this fresh short story.

This short film represents a powerful example about the bullying that some boys can suffer from other classmates in school.
Nevertheless, we can draw two conclusions from the film: First and foremost that there is no culture superior to others , an secondly that sharing experiences approaches one to each other.
Life is not about races, religion or countries; live is about getting along with others and sharing moments of your life.
