*답사내용 : 동삼동 패총은 영도 바닷가 한국해양대학교 들어가는 입구에 있고, 그곳에 동삼동 패총 전시관을 지었다. 패총 전시관에는 신석기 시대 연표와 패총에서 발견 된 동물의 뼈, 빗살무늬토기, 조개 장식품, 조개 가면등을 전시해놨다. 패총 전시관에는 안내자가 없는 대신 안내문이 잘 표기되어 있었고, 안내 동영상과 미니어쳐로 신석기 시대 생활 모습을 알아볼 수 있었다.
*새롭게 알게 된 점 : 지식 in에서 동래패총이 먼저나와서 유명한 줄 알았는데, 풀밖에 보이지 않았고, 동삼동 패총이 우리나라 신석기 시대를 대표하는 유적(국가사적 제266호)임을 처음 알았다.
*더 알고싶은 점 : 동래패총처럼 동삼동 패총터도 울타리 안에 초록풀로 덮여있었다.하지만 동삼동 패총 전시관을 통해 동삼동 패총에서 나온 유물을 볼 수 있어서 좋았다.동래패총에서 나온 유물도 보고싶다.

조선 말기인 1902년부터 1910년 사이에 건설된 41개 유인등대 중 하나로서 1909년 12월에 점등을 시작했다. 공사는 당시 등대 건설 소관부서였던 탁지부 등대국에서 맡았지만, 직원이나 기술자가 대부분 일본인이었으므로 이 역시 일본인들에 의해 세워진 것으로 보인다.

2003년 9월 16일 부산광역시 유형문화재 제50호로 지정되었다.

근 100년 전의 등대로서 다른 건축물들이 대부분 훼손되어 있는 데 비해 2002년에 새 등대가 들어설 때까지 사용되었을 정도로 원형이 잘 보존되어 있다. 일본의 강압에 의해서 건설된 만큼 당시의 시대적 상황을 함축하고 있을 뿐 아니라 철·콘크리트·벽돌·유리와 같은 근대적 재료가 사용되는 등 서구 근대건축의 도입과정도 엿볼 수 있어서 역사적·건축사적으로 그 가치가 적지 않은 문화재이다.
