Ron is the hero the modern world needs because he is so purely himself. He never tries to be something else and he always holds up his friends. He is the only character who never feels the need to change himself. He never caves to the pressure of becoming someone else.

Our hero is named Ron Weasley
From the series, "Harry Potter".
He helps Harry battle Voldemort
And loves Hermione Granger.

Society is filled with things
That clutter our minds for long
Lost individuality
Makes lack of real worth so strong

Loss of personal qualities
The media's influence
Material goods are on our minds
Societal norms make us wince

Odesseus he faced his quest
Now Ron must take his turn
He struggles just like all of us
And our respect he has earned.

Now Lancelot has his story
King Arthur's right hand man
But he was able to stay himself
And be more than Arthur's fan

Mythological heros they shape understanding
They teach us how to be brave and strong
Their place in modern times is to simply remind us
Of just how great that we can be

Underneath the antics there is always a moral
There to reveal to us the true way
Mythology tries to show us our own selves
And guide through example every day
