Have you ever had a moment with a song or sound that you felt was perfect? Why and how?When I was in band , my senior year we performed our marching show "Shiver" for our competition when were in the State Championship of our competition. Every moment in that song the dynamics and movement were beautiful. I felt connected to the song while I was doing my flag routine. Nothing was messing up vibe or counts in the song my flag was just gliding with the sound from the band. I will never forget the moment that i felt with our show in State it was a perfect moment in my life and I will never forget that moment. I do agree with Ratliff when he says "It can contain everything of value about of music in one note or chord, or a very short sequence of time" that can really be the parts that really exemplify the listener. Then he goes on saying ,"It communicates a complicated human gesture, feeling,or interaction that could not be literally demonstrated or sung; it transcend or surpasses the listener's expectation... create a moment of beneficial confusion or satisfaction." . The connection you find with music it becomes apart of you and you follow with the music because it just create new emotion for you. When Ratliff uses the example "Turn Down For What." ,The suspense for waiting for the pitch and volume to change for everyone to start turning up could be a perfect moment for people to start having fun with ecstatic movement.
