Referring to the tittle above, I, Lau Sze Ying, the Head Perfect of SMK Heng Ee will like to complaint about the increase of cyberbullying case in our school.

2.   Recently, due to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, student has more access to electronic gadgets. Student has been engaging in social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Some of the student has remained anonymous on the Internet. Hence, they are even daring to spread rumours of other people and roast someone under their post. 

3.   On 23rd of December, there has been an incident where a girl Ng Zhi Qi was cyberbullied by her classmate. She had posted a picture of herself singing. Some of her classmate left some malicious comments under her post such as say that her singing was awful and she was ugly. However, Ng Zhi Qi didn’t report this issue because she doesn’t want to worry her parents and also afraid of people those who cyberbullied by messed with the person.

4.  Personally, to prevent the cyberbullying, the school should raise an awareness campaign to alert students on the effect of cyberbullying. Other than that, the school also have to give a harsher punishment to the student who involve so that they won’t involve in the cyberbully again. Finally, student also can provide counselling to the victim of cyberbullying so that they will not get hurt on their mental health. 

I sincerely urge you to address this matter promptly.
