I watched my gooey, alien-like, blob of yeast that I had ordered make its way through a river of hot, simmering oil. As it made its way to the conveyor belt the, now fried to a crisp, piece of dough was now coated with a slimy, thick, white coating that looked like it was straight out of a horror movie. As it was placed in a raggedy paper box, my stomach did backflips. I was supposed to eat that sticky torus?

A large hunk of a prosthetic chicken breast with less water than the Sahara covered in a saddening attempt of crispiness. The feel of pure liver stopping, gut crushing grease evokes in my mind for many drowsing hours of languor from the sheer quantity of abnormally chewy and dry chicken, in which all bites never meet expectations. A piece of fried chicken is impressive in how it can take one of the best and most nutrient-rich and fulfilling foods of chicken and sadden it via humps of grease and poorly layered breading for American consumerism.

On top of the cheese were dark green leaves that looked like it could offend a tree. Besides that, rubbery white pieces of cubes only seasoned with salt and pepper lay on top. The plate was colorless, except for the occasional piece of ham and a splash of runny tomato sauce. The muffled squelch echoed in my ears and made me shutter with fright. I moved around my fork unearthing a mountain of filling which daunted me with the quickening possibility of nausea bubbling in my throat. The cheese fixated on my mouth like gum on a sidewalk.
