This is the single most important trait of a leader by far in my eyes. I personally have this trait and I get it partly because of my Director shows us everyday how he is confident in us, that rubs off on me. He sounds confident in what he says and that results in actions that help us improve processes. People want to follow someone that is sure in themselves and their duties. Employees will feel confident in their work if their manager/leadership is confident that they know what they are doing and what direction they want to take the team. A major benefit of having a confident leader, is you will feel confident that he is their to help you succeed at all costs. The flip side is some employees can take confident as arrogance, and it can be true depending on the person. I will cause a raise in productivity and a raise in moral on the team. It may also cause people who are not ready to succeed or take advice from leadership, may fall by the wayside. A confident leader may not see the attributes they can bring to the table and this can be costly to the company. The rise in productivity will bring more profit for the company and greater career path opportunity for employees. Having a confident leader, can cause employees who don't believe in themselves to think badly of of leadership, as they feel they are against them because of their confidence or arogance.

Sociability

Challenges from a sociable leader may result in employees getting too comfortable and not respective the position. This can cause for dis-rupture in the relationship and ultimately cause potential grudges. I know I personally have allowed this to happen to me and my manager, and I have had to apologize for my attitude. I got too comfortable. and it hurt our relationship, until I apologized. I think sociability trait in a leader is very important and can only help the organization. The leaders who move up need to be able to talk to a wide range of people, employees, co-workers and potential customers.
