Procedure:

Pigeon- if a pigeon turned, then food would appear.
Rat:  the results of the study show that behaviorism is mostly concerned with observable behavior. Skinner never said that the rat learned to press th elever because it wanted food. Lever press is an operant while food is reinforcing stimulus

procedure: 
test subject: albert b- orphan and at 9 months
Albert was presented with a white rat, rabbit, dog, monkey, and white cotton wool- test his initial reaction
then a hammer was hit against a steel bar for loud noises- produce fear in Albert
11 months, Albert was exposed to the white rat, but when he tried to touch it, the steel bar was struck with a hammer
procedure was repeated 3 times and again a week later
repeated after 31 days- to see if he still showed fear
results: a fear response conditioned to the rat
albert still showed signs of fear even when envioronments were switched
the fear still remained 30 days after the experiment occured
UNETHICAL- he was orphan- no consent from parents and he was also a child, so he gave no consent

Variable Ratio Examples:
-winning the jackpot on the slot machine after a changing number of times playing it
-playing poker- I do not win every time, but must play in order to have a chance
-Buying lottery tickets and winning occasionally
