How will we ever get out of our old ways? After all, our existence is to make the next generation have it better than we did.

I learned that commonly people do not ban books for actual harmful information but instead because of "harmful ideas" that promote new perspectives that aren't commonly represented through written media. Also books aren't even often banned for what they say they are with most books being challenged for "explicit content" not even containing anything worth speaking out against.

This is one of the most important things for the future of the world.

Anti Police are being banned and anything that had to with race or not. NCAA and another organization is helping authors and families to unban books. There are book clubs for teenagers to read banned books to learn and understand why they are banned.

Something I learned from this video is that books that are being banned and have been banned for a long time happen to almost always be about LGBTQ, Race elements, and Sexual elements. People are so scared about talking about what's wrong that they will ban and get rid of anything that even states that people who are apparently in control are bad.

This matters because people don't learn about problems that the world has, Race, gender and equality. That people like me and you don't get to learn, watch out and stand up for what is wrong. We should be able to do that, and I think reading what is banned, and what is challenged is the best way to learn the hard truth, and stand up for what we know is wrong!

Something I learned from this video is that books are being banned because of the content that are in the books. For example, sexual assault, racism, homophobia, etc. This is important because people that are banning books don't see the actual message the author is trying to send and banning the book is actually proving the author's point and this could affect many generations since they can't speak their mind because if they do they will silenced and judged like all of these books.

Something i learned was that there are actively alot of people fighting against the banning of books. This matters because its important to fight for the freedom to read what we want and not have stuff taken away from us. When certain books are banned that reflect on an individuals experiences, its almost like saying those experiences dont matter when banning the book, and this is wrong. We live in a free country so why are books with history and experiences of individuals and groups of people being banned?

Something I learned about banned books in the video is that they're getting banned for being to explicit and graphic for children and for being Lgbtqia+ and touching sensitive topics like Sexual harassment and racial profiling and police brutality. This is important/matters because kids are getting disconnected from books that touch these topics and make them unable to learn about them in general, these books help the young people understand more about the world and how some people get treated for being who they are or what they are as people. These books also matter because some share their experiences of being Lgbtqia+, racially profiled, and apart of being a different race. Another reason why this matter is important is because some kids are relating to these books and when books like those get banned they would feel invalidated and like they don't matter and that normal white heterosexual books are better then Lgbtqia+ and other race main characters.

This film taught me that many books that discuss the effects of racism or include LGBTQ youth are being banned. This matters because taking these books away blocks students from learning about different cultures and viewpoints, which makes it harder for them to understand how other people feel (empathy) and to build strong, independent thinking skills. Since these bans unfairly focus on stories about groups like kids of color or LGBTQ+ youth, it sends a really horrible message that their lives and experiences are not important enough to be shared in school.

Something I learned from this video is that banned books are mostly banned because of parents because they think that these topics cannot be handled by their children and young adults. These topics mostly include racism/political and sexuality. This matters because if kids are seeing books that are getting banned that are related to them they wonder if what they are is wrong. They aren't able to learn about problems in the real life world and aren't able to get educated in valuable lessons that happens in everyday life. This is why it matters to not mindlessly ban books just because of their 'harsh' topics.

Something I learned from this video is that a lot of these banned books are books that you can learn from and topics including LGBTQ, slavery, sexual topics. This matters because the people who are banning books often belief that children should be protected from certain topics that they think are inappropriate. Banning these books means that students miss the opportunity to develop a bigger understanding of history.

Something I learned from this video was that books are not being banned within a serious reason but for the ideas and information in books. Even some parental groups are concerned and are going to schools to report about books.

This matters because certain books may help children find themselves, learn historical backgrounds, sex education, and race. People learn by reading or seeing visual pictures that the author may include with their books and this helps kids to get information that they wonder about.

One thing I learned from this video is that the books that got banned had controversial topics like race and anti police topics and sexual topics. This matters because government and school communities and families want to take these books off the shelf. This shouldn't happen because people need to learn about certain stuff and we can't be hiding information.

Something i learned from the video is a bunch of the topic is about stuff such as Slavery, Sexual topic, or even LGBTQ. This matters because so many adults believe the children should be yielded from these "Inappropriate topics". If these books get banned then children miss the opportunity to develop a real understanding of history.
