The late sixties is often refereed to as a year of cultural and political trends with things happening in the worlds such as NASA putting a man on the moon in 1969. Moreover the troubles were an ongoing problem with the North of Ireland, greatly effecting Ireland and its capital Dublin as well as the rest of the UK. Moreover Thin Lizzy's original guitar player Eric Bell was from Belfast where the troubles waged at this time. 
Events like when the peoples democracy march left Belfast to go to Derry. Lizzy were forming and growing up in Ireland at this time and almost all other Irish artist like Lizzy were moving with these times during 1969. 
Moreover the fashion at this point also influences how early Thin Lizzy look with them all being part of the rock look during that era mainly Denim and leather jackets.

The image to the top left shows the kind of venue that Thin Lizzy would have played during the early 70s and the crowd outside it are dressed typically in the rocker fashions. This would have been Thin Lizzy's fan base images at the time also.
