Alice Cooper is an American Rock Singer who heavily influenced KISS by his "rough singing style" and use of stage props in his performances, including pyrotechnics, different torture devices, fake blood, reptiles and dueling swords. This use of stage props along with the way he sang and performed influenced KISS to create a similar style of music and performance.

The Beatles were an influential English rock group that used various different genres, such as 1950's rock 'n' roll, pop ballads and psychedelic rock. They also used new recording techniques when recording their music. Gene Simmons tried to replicate their hard rock/psychedelic tone and aesthetic. KISS's musical style is a reflection of The Beatles' groundbreaking legacy and their influence on generations of musicians.

KISS drew inspiration from the English rock band Slade, with Gene Simmons acknowledging their influence on KISS's iconic song, "Rock and Roll All Nite." Simmons described it as "a direct bastard child of Slade's Mama Weer All Crazee Now." This recognition underscores Slade's impact on KISS's music, shaping their energetic, anthemic style that resonated with audiences worldwide.

Daft Punk was an artist that heavily influenced Gorillaz through their style of music. They started as an artist that made house/techno, but emerged and developed to producing something that was more "poppy and retro," in respect to its "futuristic-dancey" vibe. I think that Gorillaz also took inspiration from their futuristic helmets and costumes that Daft Punk would wear adding a sense of mysteriousness to all of their performances, which also synchronised with their style of music.

As said on the Gorillaz wiki, the Specials were a key influence on Gorillaz. In fact, in a Gorillaz mockumentary (Gorillaz: Charts of Darkness), Terry Hall has a small cameo, in which he states, "The biggest influence is me." In Gorillaz' debut album, there is a combination of different sounds made by the Specials and Massive Attack. Furthermore, 2-D (a record producer in the Gorillaz universe) was named Terry, after Terry Hall from The Specials.

Massive Attack's influence on Gorillaz came through their sound of music. Damon Albarn was motivated to start working with hip-hop and other genres of music outside Blur's (another English rock band Gorillaz took inspiration from) Britpop, alt-rock sound by Albarn's fondness for Massive Attack and his knack for experimentation, which gave rise to Gorillaz's genre-bending trip hop sound. The sound of Gorillaz' "self titled" album, Albarn states that it was supposed to be "a combination of Massive Attack and The Specials.
