We made comments like, "America is so clean, we actually have toilets and toilet-seat covers." This was when we were taking a restroom break during a road trip and the bathrooms did not have actual toilets, but holes in the ground instead. I am sure we offended our cousins with our implications that it's "dirty" over there. They found this completely normal in Vietnam.
