         <description><![CDATA[<div>"By referring to all non-white people as "people of colour," issues that <em>really really</em> impact specific communities are watered down to become issues that just impact all people of colour." (Ajele, 2021, para. 5). The author states that the term BIPOC is too broad and fails to capture the specifics of the many, diverse communities of peoples.&nbsp;<br><br>"The term "racialized people" is not only free of the dark implications that come with using the word "colour" in reference to people, but it also gives credence to the fact that race is a construct."&nbsp; (Ajele, 2021, para. 16). The author states that the use of "colour" or focusing on the colour of one's skin is not only offensive, it also reduces the construct of race to a mere physical property of one's body.</div>]]></description>
