Child Labor is allowed in America due to loopholes in laws regarding agriculture. These kids miss school and the physical labor as well as pesticides takes a toll on their bodies. I was interested in that this is going on inside the US and it is allowed by US law. I'm still wondering due to the age of this video, whether it has been at all solved or combated.

Van Jones is an American activist and author who is the founding director of the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights. This organization created the Bay Area Police Watch; a force designed to monitor and prevent misconduct and violation of police officers. They worked to ban pepper a spray, a chemical used to subdue suspects, and stop police brutality, harassment and intimidation. His efforts have offered lessons that violations of human rights STILL take place even with the flaunted protection that the democratic law of the US offers.

A group of three men are setting out on a journey to live in extreme poverty on just one dollar a day for 56 days. They're planning on living in Pena Blanca in Guatemala to experience the way people there live with what they have. The type of life these people live is a violation of article 23. This article states that that everyone who works is supplemented by other means of social protection, if necessary. Having to live on a dollar a day is a violation of this right because these people work, but they do not make enough to support their families. I found it most interesting that a group of men who are used to living a life with a sufficient amount of money, are now going to try to live the way that many people do. I find it interesting that if you ask people they don know how they would live on a dollar, while others have no other choice. I wonder how these three men are going to end up after the 56 days.

Desmond Tutu is an archbishop who confronted the bigotry and violence of South Africa's apartheid system. He outspoke against the unruliness of the apartheid and successfully ended eight years of white minority rule. He was hated my most people where he lived and received many threats and evil looks. This explains a violation of the UDHR article because it suggests racial prejudice and repression. He says that despite the offers of free health care and education, the most important change to him is that now he is free.

Teens of Tobacco Fields

This is about teens who are forced to work in tobacco fields and the way it damages them. They work in an environment that teenagers shouldn be working in. These kids are exposed to chemicals and other harmful things. This is a violation of many rights because these teenagers are being forced to work in these conditions and are surrounded with dangerous things. They wear trash bags as their protection and have to work in tobacco fields, when they aren even legally allowed to smoke. I find it shocking that these teens are forced to work here and that this can causes brain damages and other health issues. Itś unbelievable that only some US states banned teens from under 16 to work in tobacco fields. A question I have is whether working on tobacco fields also increases the chance that these teenagers are going to become smokers?

Ka Hsaw Wa founded the EarthRights International organization. The organization filed a lawsuit against a US corporation, Unocal, after their agents, hired for security and transportation of an oil pipeline, committed serious violations against the local indigenous people. They committed extortion, rape, torture, forced labor, and extrajudicial killings. This violates UDHR article because these people of a different race were persecuted. They did not live in freedom or safety, were tortured and were treated as slaves. Wa spent years walking through miles of the Burma forest interviewing and recording confessions of victims of human rights violators.

Many powerful voices gather and unite to speak about fighting for many global changes. This isnt a specific violation, but it has to do with many of them and the way that we must fight to change all that we do wrong. As stated in the video, we have to do something to fix these violations. The US and its people must change the amount of poverty, gender inequality, inhuman treatment, the right for education to everyone, etc. I found it surprising that so many powerful voices were able to be a part of this video and stand up for what they believe.
